Chocolate....it's good for what ails ya.
It's also good even if you're not ailing.
I am going to share a recipe that a lovely lady at work gave to me. She is our resident queen of baking. And, the best part is that she brings samples for all of us. Sometimes, it is not just a mere sample....it is the whole cake, pumpkin roll, pan of fudge....you get the picture.
Chocolate, Chocolate Chip Pound Cake....in all of its glory
1 box yellow cake mix
1 large box instant chocolate pudding mix
1/2 cup sugar
2/3 cup water
1/2 cup oil
4 eggs
8 oz sour cream
1 - 12 oz bag of mini chocolate chips
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a bundt pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Mix cake mix, pudding mix, and sugar. Add water, oil and eggs. Mix thoroughly. Stir in the sour cream and beat until smooth. Finally, stir in the chocolate chips.
Pour into the bundt pan and bake for 50-55 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes, remove from pan, and dust with powdered sugar.
Enjoy, because everyone at my house sure has.
Put the coffee on. I'll be right over! lol
ReplyDeleteThis cake has to be so mosit and wonderful because of the pudding mix and the sour cream. I am such a chocolate addict I would probably make it with chocolate cake mix. More is better!
ReplyDeleteoh oh oh I used to make this all the time. I'd quite forgotten about it. Now I've gotta make it and it's all your fault. :^)
ReplyDeleteMy wife is heading out to the store now.
ReplyDeleteCan you make this and come over?
ReplyDeleteOh yum! I'm going to have to print this recipe out.
ReplyDeleteOMG! I just died a chocolate death! How decadent!
ReplyDeleteOMG, a cake designed just for me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteI added a pound just reading the recipe:)
ReplyDeleteNow that's just wrong to post a picture of something so gorgeous when I'm trying to be good! What a cake.
ReplyDeleteSO not fair! I hate it when y'all post things like this! I need to get a blog filter that screens out all luscious photos and recipes of dangerous things like this! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a favorite cake recipe of mine. Goes way back in our family and is called Uncle Ronnie's cake...have NO idea who Uncle Ronnie was.
ReplyDeleteOh that chocolate cake looks delicious. I don't bake but maybe I can talk someone into trying the recipe out and inviting me over for coffee. -- barbara
ReplyDeleteomg I just gained 5 pounds just looking at it!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your blog!!!!!!!!
This is almost identical to one that I make quite often- "Death by Chocolate". You just substitute a Devils' Food w/Pudding in the Mix cake mix instead of the yellow cake. It's requested for all of our food-centered work functions...
ReplyDeleteMan, that looks good. I'm in the mood for baking today, but I planned gingerbread cookies and banana bread. I might have to rethink my plans.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like chocolate heaven!
ReplyDeleteCan you mail me a piece? I'll send you my address. ;)
ReplyDeleteThere surely isn't much more impressive, honest and heart warming, that the smell of it filling a house. Thank you for this joy for the senses. Please have you all a good Wednesday.

Airedalegirl - I will have to try that variation. You know, what's a little more chocolate?!
ReplyDeleteJensamom - Uncle Ronnie must have been a smart man if this cake was named after him.
And here I was doing so good with my chocolate craving. I'll be that smells heavenly.
ReplyDeleteAnd let the feasting season begin!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYay...we'll start with your cake and it will continue until January 2nd:))))
Thanks for the recipe!
I'd really like a slice of this now! Maybe two...
ReplyDeleteMan does that look rich!
ReplyDeleteNothing a cold glass of milk can't fix, though.
It seem really really good !
ReplyDeleteI'm seduced by your photo and your recipe seems easy to realize, I'll do it !
thank you for sharing ! :))
Bye**
I make this too...well, just like my sis Willow above said. Except I'm pretty sure our recipe is for a chocolate cake mix instead of yellow...the rest is identical. YUM! It's wonderful! SO moist!
ReplyDeleteThat looks yummy...I make a similair one, but I use devil's food cake mix and a cup of sour cream not sugar...I think I'm going to have to make one of those real soon!
ReplyDeleteThis looks incredibly delicious and quite easy to make. You got me with double chocolate!
ReplyDeleteSlight variation. Instead of choc pudding use vanilla pudding, and swirl some choc syrup (with or without choc chips) in the batter. But any variety of this is good.
ReplyDeleteI am making this for hubby this weekend when he gets home. Not making it before or I would eat it all. Love all the chocolate. Thanks for sharing. Yum!!
ReplyDeleteMmmm. This sounds very good!
ReplyDeletedelicious!!! I wanna a piece!
