It's in the Details

A few weeks ago, during much warmer days, I took some photos of The Deerslayer while he was working with his bow. At the time I was just trying to get some good shots of him doing something he loves. It is hard to get him to sit still and smile for a photo. He doesn't like to have his photo taken. He is so unlike his sister.
I loaded them on the computer and didn't think much about it until I started picking and choosing photos. Then, I found the cross in the sky.

Perhaps a little Divine Inspiration right here on the farmette.

  1. How cool is that? I love finding hidden gems in my photos. Makes us realize how much we don't see and it's right in front of us!

What a special picture. Love it!

  2. The top picture reminds me of a photo we have of my husband with his bow, may be right around the same age as your son. That is so cool when things like that happen when you take that picture. It always give me a smile. I'm with Nancy, it does make you realize how much is right in front of us that we miss.

  3. Yes,His presence is always there, we simply need to slow down enough to see it.

Love the snow gently falling across your page.

  4. Amazing photos! He is so handsome he should want his picture taken.

Be happy he is so active and not flopped in front of the cocmputer or tv like so many kids.

  5. It rather looks like your son is aiming for that cross in the sky. Pretty neat.

  7. Love your cross in the sky. Didn't know God was in to hidden pictures? :-) Also LOVE the snow flakes on your page. At first I thought I was seeing things, but then I realized I was not losing my mind or my eye sight! (The closer I get to 50, the more I fret about such things. Really losing the up-close focus abilities! DANG!)

    Great post!

  8. It's always nice to have a surprise like that. I have found many strange things in my photos that I didn't see at first, but never like this...

  9. That's really neat! If you ever see a target in the sky, your son and his bow are destined for greatness!

Since you have him use his rifle for mistletoe take-downs, what else does he get to use his bow for? Hanging Christmas lights or something?

He's such a great hunter. I can only imagine how he'll grow to be a great hunter man. :)

  12. I think its more like the x to mark the spot that his arrow will pierce the sky. Nice shots.

  15. Photos are sometimes unexpected like that, you never know what you are going to find. The view from behind works well.

  16. Both are very nice shots! The angle in # 2 is great. Your son looks very serious and professional with his bow.

  21. Now that can be called a 'great capture' !

One of the things I like about photography - the camera sees everything because it doesn't have a mind of its own - unlike us. And often it shows us things in a way that our eyes just can't see.

  25. How cool is that? A cross in the sky! :) I agree with sawn61, His presence surrounds us, we just need to be aware of it.

Your ds reminds me of my ds. In fact, they kind of look alike. Check out my tree cutting post - or maybe you already did? Anyway, my little guy is only 10, but he loves archery too.

    :)
