After spending a few days on the sunny coast, it was a rude awakening when we arrived back at the farmette. Cold and snowy, but beautiful for certain.

Snow in every conceivable spot.

Silence hung in the air just as the snow was covering the ground.

As usual, the dogs enjoyed every flake.

Snow could even be seen on the neighboring farm.

Dressed in my son's coveralls I only stayed outside for a few moments walking around in the snow. Then, it was inside by the fire. Where I stayed for most of the day.
One thing I've noticed is that no matter how cold it is dogs love playing in the snow. Nice pics :).
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it was hard to go back to snow after spending time at the coast :) I stay pretty warm outside with a pair of snow pants that I've had for years. Love your snow shots.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! Especially love the new header....
ReplyDeleteA picture-perfect day. And I love your new blog header -- he's such a handsome, confident little fellow. :)
ReplyDeleteSuch happy dogs!!!
ReplyDeleteWe have light rain and 45 degrees here today. No snow in sight. So I'll enjoy yours via the web. :)
I imagine staying warm by the fire is pretty much perfection! Glad you hade if home safely. The snow sure is beautiful, though!
ReplyDeleteWe're snowcovered here, too, with more on the way.
ReplyDeleteI got a new camera (Panasonic FZ35) for Christmas that I haven't had an opportunity to play with much yet but when I get back from visiting my fam in Wausau that's the plan!
May the remainder of your holiday season be filled with joy and peace and warmth, too!
Ya, it's been a strange winter so far... lots of snow so South. Nice shots.
ReplyDeleteGotta love dogs! They have such fun in the snow. :)
ReplyDeleteFarmette? Great pictures. I like the one of the dog behind the fence. Snow is for making igloos, snow ball fights etc. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThe only snow I'm gonna get is in your gorgeous photos. Stinking Texas.
ReplyDeleteI bet that was a big shock from the sunny ocean. Sure is beautiful though and what a great way to spend a day-cozied up to the fire :)
ReplyDeleteNice photos of our snow storm. We had a lot of stuck cars and trucks trying to get up driveways. Will all melt in the next few days. -- barbara
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it home safely! Enjoy the fire and the beautiful scenery!
ReplyDeleteJust 'met' you, so I'm off to have a wander around your blog to get to know your better!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the dogs playing in the snow. We've just had some lovely snowy, winter weather, but we're back to milder weather now. Thankfully, we've had few gales this winter, but I'm guessing that wont last long here. Nice to 'meet' you

It might be cold, but it looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful, how wonderful a place.
ReplyDeletePlease have you all a good Wednesday.
I just love the peacefulness of the snow. Love your photos.
ReplyDeleteLoved the Christmas photos! Especially the nerf guns--are the darts gone yet?
ReplyDeleteSnowy here too, but today we saw some melting. It will get tricky when it melts to ice, I think. At least on our driveway.
Beautiful! Cold, but beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteWhat is it with dogs and snow...they just love it! Your photos are wonderful...it looks heavenly to me!
ReplyDeleteSnow is still a rare event for us, we had a short spell earlier this mont but we are not used to it.
ReplyDeleteBut it's always a fascinating thing to see in pictures.
Well, that was fun, but it is time to get back inside with a fire and cuppa!
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty pics :) I'm glad you had a good Christmas-fighting dogs and all!
ReplyDeleteAll the best for the new year and thanks for the visits... nick
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures of the snow. Dogs and kids love the snow, but I agree, sitting by a warm fire on days like that(with a good book or a quilting project) is more my stlye. My Kentucky aunt is here in Ca. right now and I'm sure she doesn't mind missing a little of the snow.
ReplyDeleteI finally made it out to take some pictures. Some I used today, and some I will use for the next big Real Farmwives of America post coming Dec. 31~!
ReplyDeleteAs always, your pictures inspire me! LOVE them!
Your new header photo is just great. I get just like the dogs in snow. All I want to do is play in it.--Inger
ReplyDeleteI love your new header....
ReplyDeletewow you do have snow...stay warm!
We have rain and around 45 degrees...not bad!

ReplyDeleteThere has been a lot of snow this season and its been wild and crazy. Living in North Florida, our morning have been in the low 20's brrrr for us :-)
ReplyDeleteThe snow scenes are delightful. Your dogs love it! Stay warm.

What a cute doggie! Hope you had a merry Christmas. We were down in Louisville and it snowed just enough to have a white christmas. Then it all quickly melted away. We're back in Chicago now where there is tons of snow on the ground but it's not too cold out so it's just a big wet mess!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteWe had a couple of inches here on the farm. too.
We had over two feet of snow, Farmchick. I finally finished digging my way out of it! :) NYC does not look pretty in the snow and everyone gets very cranky when they can't ruch to and from.
ReplyDeleteGla dyou had a nice vacation holiday!
Great pictures. I particularly like the last one through the trees and it looks like fun for the dog.
ReplyDeleteThe snow has finally melted here. Hopefully the chaos of cancelled and re-arranged travel plans will be over... for a bit !!
Really pretty !
