We had a forecast for a little bit of snow this weekend. I confess what I really wanted was what you see in this photograph. Just enough snow for the kids and dogs to enjoy.
And, this is what I received.
Barely a few flakes on the back deck steps. Bitterly cold temperatures are forecast for this coming week. But, not a snowflake in sight.
That top photo is so cute! Dogs (and kids) get so joyous in the snow! But alas. Not to be for you this weekend. But you have a couple months left of weather forecasts to be hopeful! :)
I know what you mean -- the anticipation and then just a little frost. But it will come. Black clouds are lining up here so maybe they will travel east.--Inger
Love your border collie-so pretty. I know how dissapointing it is when you don’t get that snow and you want it. We got lucky this weekend and did get a beautiful snow--but not on the roads--perfect kind :) Amy
For this you can live in North Florida (smile) Lots of bitter cold temps and not a flake of snow. Don't worry, I have no doubt before this winter is over, you will have plenty of snow for the dogs and kids to play in-
We love snow up here in WI and were glad to get some 6-7" on Friday. I was out snowshoeing with the dogs today. One pup (our Yorkie) hates it and the other, a schnoodle, adores the snow. He's my little snowshoe buddy.
I hope you get some snow soon. It's just not winter without it.
Oh NO! I know that feeling:( Well...2 ideas...you can sweep up all the skiff(s) of snow into one big pile....OR....come take some of mine:))) I so love your photos!
Farmchick -- Like your wreath hanging on your wood fence post -- very picturesque. Today in central KY we are getting lots of snow flurries and wind -- temp 19 degrees. It really is pretty though. -- barbara
We got a ton of rain here yesterday, but it was not very cold so not much snow in the mountains behind my house. My older son and I are heading up there this week to snowboard, so hopefully there will be new powder. Toots is adorable...I like her decorations in her room...my sons always set up a small tree and manger in their room when they were small.
oh no...im NOT ready for snow! :-(
ReplyDeletewell, gee..you'd think bitterly cold would bring a few flakes your way! maybe it will, you know how the weather men can be :D
ReplyDeleteLovely photo of your dog. I can't wait to show Sebastian his first snow!
ReplyDeleteSorry you didn't get more snow. A nice snow would have made it seem more like Christmas. We got just a light dusting - not enough to cover the ground.
ReplyDeleteAwww - what a cutie! Love the snow on the nose, too!

ReplyDeleteWe only got a dusting also. I was hoping for a few inches too. Like getting the snow pics on my camera traps.
ReplyDeleteToday we got enough snow to make tracks in but not enough to shovel...yet.
ReplyDeleteIt will come :) I love your banner!

ReplyDeleteNice dog! Do you want some of our snow?
ReplyDeleteIan - That is my Border Collie and she is one smart chick. And, I would love "some" of your snow!

LOVE your picture! We had about 5 inches!
ReplyDeleteHere comes Suzy Snowflake;
Look at here falling down.
Tap tap tapping on the window pane;
Suzy's come to town.
My mom used to sing that song to me all the time. Thanks for the memory! I had forgotten it!
There's much good to be found beneath the white of snow. It might just take a while.
ReplyDeleteOver here, still above 60F during midday. Making it difficult to obtain "Christmas mood". Please have you all a good new week.

Unlike CatHerder, we are ready for the snow. Unfortunately they have forecasted a pretty dry winter for us this year. We can hope for the moisture.

Love snow, not the bitter cold. It's OK without the wind, but we are rarely without wind in Nebraska.
ReplyDeleteLove your dog! Can't wait to show our new puppy her first real snow.
what a beautiful dog. wish we have some snow in our country to enjoy. hope your week is off to a good start.
ReplyDeleteIt's too early for us to be having snow. I think we had 2-3 inches, and the high this week is like 18 degrees. I hate it!
ReplyDeleteWhile snow is rare here, I guess you will have you fair share of snow flakes quite soon!
ReplyDeleteWe had our first snow in December since 1958... something tells me there will be lots more where that came from.
ReplyDeleteIn my book, minimal snow equals "lucky!!!"
ReplyDeleteOh NO! I know that feeling:(

I so love your photos!

ReplyDeleteBummer! We rarely get snow and I get SOOO excited at the prospect. I like the new header! I sure wish I lived on a farm.... :)
ReplyDeleteBe careful what you wish for. I'll send ya some in a month. hahaha
ReplyDeleteOh! I hope you get the snow you want! *and it misses us entirely this year*...

ReplyDeleteWinter's not really here yet, so the best is yet to come! Love the doggie :) So beautiful...
ReplyDeleteIt seems you will have white Christmas for sure! Warm regards from the Mediterranean region! Philip
ReplyDeleteYou can have some of the snow we have here in Utah. :) I hope you at least get a little more snow so you can have a white Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI hope the snow holds off as long as possible, but a dusting is pretty!
ReplyDeleteI like to see a little snow too. I like to see it coming down. I like it when what it does, the local weather calls it 'snow showers.'
ReplyDeleteLove the dog in the snow. My favorite of all time.
You may just get more, yet.
ReplyDeleteKid with a hunting bow? Be prepared to duck!
ReplyDeleteWE got 2 or 3 inches a few days ago. It is so cold here, too. I don't like it getting so cold so soon in the season.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm late getting here, but I know by now that you have plenty of the white stuff.
