It does kind of look like a pub. I helped started up a plant in Newbern, TN in the 90's and there was a pub there that had an entrance similiar to this.
I love how paint weathers and takes on such a neat life of its own with age....We try to recreate that look with all the high-tech "antiquing" methods, but the genuine article is always best, in my opinion! Hope you are warm and dry....this snow has made its path through both our states I think. xoxo
You have such a great eye to find beauty in the unexpected. This door is fabulous. Love the colors in it and I want to peak inside and I agree wtih Guido--have a Guiness :)
First of all I love the colors. Red, white and blue, so American. A closed door just dares me to open it to see what lies inside. You do find the best things to photograph.
I can almost see on a hot summer night...the door standing open, the glow of a light from inside, music, people talking and a few hanging outside the door to get the cool night air.
looks like if you open the door you will be inside an old Irish Pub
ReplyDeleteGuido - I wish it were an old Irish Pub, that would be fun. It is actually a doorway to a building on our historic town square.

ReplyDeleteWhy do doorways make such beautiful subjects to photograph? Beautiful picture!
ReplyDeleteOne of my most FAVORITE photos on your Thoughtless Thursday yet.
ReplyDeleteI just love this.
Would love it framed and hanging on my wall:)
Good job!!!!!
I love that doorway - it looks kind of narrow! I love Irish Pubs - the people are so friendly and the food is always good. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the subtle red-white-blue motif - antiqued! :)
ReplyDeleteThe next best thing to a fresh coat of paint, ...is the patina of old paint! :)

ReplyDeleteI grew up in a small village, your pictures have just brought back so many memories. Rundown or Derelict is something smalltowns or villages do well.
ReplyDeleteLove the colour and the mystery.

ReplyDeleteA beautiful picture, you are so talented with your camera. --Inger
ReplyDeleteThe Blue colour would definitely tell you it wasn't gonna be an Irish pub!
