Yesterday afternoon we received more snow and this was the view from my front porch as the heavy snow was coming down.

This morning we awoke to a bit of sunshine and a fresh blanket of almost three inches of the white stuff.

Yet another snow day for the
chiclets and I. We are now approaching double digits in terms of snow days. Not a good sign as we still have quite a bit more winter to go.

Bitterly cold temps mean that even the dogs don't want to venture outdoors.

A bit of baking, laundry and some time with the Kindle today.
It's great you have a view like that from your front porch. Enjoy your snow day--I think my kids would be jealous, we've had all the snow and none of the time off!
ReplyDeleteI know it adds a lot of extra work, but it's so, so beautiful... x
ReplyDeleteWe had a little bit of the white stuff last night. It was just enough to give us a two hour delay. They are calling for more snow here Sunday into Monday. I hope it's like last night...I like starting my day at 8a instead of 6a.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your long weekend!
It looks so peaceful,I would just want to sleep, cuddle with a good book and gaze out the window!! Who needs work and real life??
ReplyDeleteBring out the cocoa!!! :) Looks like you might have school into June this year to make up for those snow days!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of snow days....and January is not even over. We have had such a harsh winter so far. Enjoy your kindle and your kids...hot chocolate...a fire.
ReplyDeleteWe have a snow day here, too! Looks like you have the same kind of snow...that sparkly kind when the sun hits it! Lovely! Enjoy the day!
ReplyDeletetexwisgirl - We missed school last year due to snow and the flu. Had to make a day on a Saturday (seriously) and still went into June. No fun.
ReplyDeleteBetsy - I am about to venture outside, for just a bit. It is too beautiful not to photograph.
ReplyDeleteWe were suppose to get 2" but got none.
ReplyDeleteThat's a LOT of snow days! Man, what a wacky winter we've all had. It's 4 degrees out right now with a windchill of -10. Yikes! I really don't want to venture out!
ReplyDeleteYour yard and fields look exactly like mine. The sun on the snow today makes it hard to look outside without your sunglasses.
ReplyDeleteStay warm, spring will be here soon.
What are you baking? I may come over! I do have an ETSY shop and I am currently working to restock. I will post when the store is stocked.
ReplyDeleteHey, chick. We, too, are off today. I think this may be day 8 for us altogether, so we have 5 more to go before we have to start making them up. And, like you said, we still have a lot of winter yet to go.
ReplyDeleteI have a terrace but the view is not so nice and I would like a porch with some space around... I could even get some snow on it!
ReplyDeleteMy attitude has changed! I was starting to hate the white stuff, but tomorrow, I pick up my new snowblower (it came in early) and I can take my revenge!
ReplyDeleteJust kidding. Us farmers need the moisture!
Stay warm.
You too stay warm!!! It was -9 this morning and I think we might make it to 8 above before the sun goes all the way down. YUCK. I'm ready for spring.
ReplyDeleteI promised myself to spend more of my 5-kid's inheritance when the iPad2 comes out. I want one of them. I want to experience reading some of the online newspapers then with that. I wonder how the webpages and FB will look?
ReplyDeleteIt was very cold here today. It was
-2º when I got up and this evening it is 10º.
You have a wonderful view out the back door. I like the line hanging from the tree, but I do believe it is supposed to have an old tire swing hanging from it.
ReplyDeleteDid you read "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett? I'm enjoying it very much. I'm also reading "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle" by Barbara Kingsolver--really fascinating!
ReplyDeleteFarmchick -- It is very cold tonight in Central Kentucky -- got stuck on the slick ice coming up my hill to my home tonight. My son and neighbor came to the rescue -- thankfully. Stay warm in front of your fireplace!
ReplyDelete-- barbara
That's about how much snow we had last night. It's going to get down into single digits tonight. Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous. These are wonderful. Love your barn!
ReplyDeleteToo much snow for my taste... ;)
ReplyDeleteThe temps are the killers here. !! above and falling this weekend. Brrrrrrr!
ReplyDeleteYou and I have very similar views! I am so over the snow days too. We are going to be going to school to July at this rate!
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely at your place. At least you have blue skies.
ReplyDeleteHave a Great Weekend
See Yea George xxx
How well I remember the kids and teachers (including me) favorite radio program...SCHOOL CLOSINGS.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty place. I know what you mean about the kiddos--around here they will likely be extending the school year :(
ReplyDeleteNew snow makes the world seem so clean and neat.
ReplyDeletethe pics are great! But i just love the pic of your dog in the snow. that one beats all of them!

makes my teeth chatter just looking at your photos...we had a nice sunny day...the wind was cool...but it was nice to see the sun...
ReplyDeleteGreat photos and sounds like a perfect day!
ReplyDeleteLove the snowy pics-lots of missed school here too.
ReplyDeleteHmmm - 3" = a snow day ? Better not let the kids up north hear that - they'd be off school most of the winter ;-)
ReplyDeleteBut - beautiful shots - I love a blanket of fresh snow - in photos !
We had about 8" that hung around for about a week. Missed three school days so far. It's just not something SC is used to. LOL
