"From breakfast, or noon at the latest, to dinner, I am mostly on horseback, attending to my farm, or other concerns which I find healthful to my body, mind, and affairs".
Thomas Jefferson
Here at the farmette it is a different kind of animal that gets everyone around the farm. Now that the weather is better, the chores have started. And, I find it so great that I have a young man around the house who doesn't mind helping.
Ooh, a two seater Mule! We've got a Polaris Ranger that we use for chores and running around our property. My son can't wait until his legs are long enough to drive. This will be the year, I'm sure. :) (Our pups like to go for a ride, too!)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that Jack is so cute! :)
ReplyDeleteI love yard and farm chores! I am ready to get outside and in the barn for spring cleaning. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteHubby and I were just at the John Deere store yesterday to drop off the sprayer and get it ready for a jump into hyper drive with GPS! We looked at the Gators, and I think it would be fun to have one, just not sure where it truly lands on the want/need list! Stay tuned. It IS time to start rolling the ground isn't it?? Well, we have to let some of the melted snow go back into the ground first! Still have a few piles lingering and lots of puddles!
ReplyDeleteA boy and his dog - reminds me of my brother at that age and the fun he and I used to have running around outside on a spring day with our old dog "Trouser" - makes me smile! :-)
ReplyDeleteOh! My boys would be so thrilled to have that to drive around, one day, when they are older! :) I bet your son loves it!
ReplyDeleteThank you, so much, for your always kind comments! I always appreciate you coming by! Wishing you a beautiful weekend! :)
I don't know about that smaller driver. He looks like he could get wild behind the wheel.
ReplyDeleteThe bottom shot of your son and his dog is classic.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun those ranch chores are! And with a four legged buddy....what else could a young man ask for?!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I just elbowed John beside me in the bed and told him we need to get one of these. I might even lend a hand on the farm if I were able to drive one of these around. lol
ReplyDeletenow that is cool.....
ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty cool-lookin' tractor! :) I bet your boy loves to drive it -- your dog looks like he's all about runnin' around the ranch in style too.
ReplyDeleteNice one... it's nice to see that your dog has learned to drive a well !
ReplyDeleteHe's a handsome guy! Love how proud he is in that photo with his dog.
ReplyDeleteA dog and his friend together. Nothing can be better than that.
ReplyDeleteLooks like snow's all gone... we should be so lucky up here. Ha!
ReplyDeleteThey grow up so fast.....glad he doesn't mind helping you.
ReplyDeleteNothing like a boy and his dog. Bet he doesn't mind helping when he can ride around in a cool vehicle like that. Good life lessons, raising kids on a farm (farmette). Oh my, they grow up so fast.
ReplyDeleteI nice set of shots. Thomas Jefferson would have liked that 'animal'...
ReplyDeleteAren't dogs wonderful companions? I love them,
ReplyDeleteWhat a handsoem young man your son is!
ReplyDeleteI love it when the boy is old enough to help--and when he can find a friend along the way.
ReplyDeleteWith a neat machine like that, and a young man around the driving age,you will get all kinds of help. That's always the way it was when we were growing up on the farm.Everyone wanted the job of driving anything, anywhere, anytime there was driving involved. The rest had to hand up the tobacco or hay or corn or pumpkins or wood,or whatever was being harvested that day.You were considered lucky,if you got to do the driving.
ReplyDeleteToo cute! I miss our older son being home and helping out. Enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteAwe, this is so cute! A boy and his dog.

ReplyDeleteHandsome boy and cute doggie!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I can totally relate to this. My nephews are more then ready to help too as long as they get to ride the Bush Hog. I don’t mind at all--it’s a win/win :) Cute son!
ReplyDeleteBoth young man and hound are sweet. You are fortunate he doesn't mind helping with chores -- so nice to hear.
