Gentle Readers.....the following post has no cohesive thought nor flow. Due to the snow and cold weather I do think my brain has shriveled and is now incapable of true reflection. So, I decided to utilize my visual skills and sort through some older photos instead.
Here we have my own dear Toots really acting the part of a true ham.
A random barn shot....I do love them. And, there is the slightest sliver of a moon right above the roof line. A nice touch by Mother Nature. 
A marshmallow fresh out of the fire. True summertime heaven on a stick. 
A bad reputation as a weed, but beautiful nonetheless. 
Trap shooting practice should be starting soon and actually I cannot wait for The Deerslayer to get back at it. 
The weather forecast is calling for more snow. Seriously, I am going to turn into a flake before long. 
The rain washed all of our snow away but now we're suppose to get ice tonight :(. I'm ready for some warm 70's.

ReplyDeletegreat photos...we got 4 inches of snow last night on top of the ice...I guess we are just trying to make our Super Bowl visitors feel at home...hope they take the weather back with them....78 on saturday 20 today....thats Texas...

We have about four inches of ice under the snow and it's slick as snot on a frozen doorknob. Must we have more on top of that??? The the weatherman says, next week's gonna make this one look like a heatwave. What...are sub~zero temps not cold enough??? Whew, I'm glad I got that off my chest...I feel better now! Heehehe!!! :o)

ReplyDeleteI like to look back through old photos. We have over 100,000 pictures on hard drives. Unfortunately they are not all labeled so I have to look in a folder with a date going back many years to see what I was taking back then.

ReplyDeleteWas the picture of Toots taken at Penn's? It pings my memory a little; we used to go out there about twice a year to buy country ham to ship to Dad's family out in Arizona. Way back when, you had to ford a little stream on the Mannsville road to get to it, and you had to call ahead (long distance) to find out if the road was passable!
The "HAM" photo really got to me!
ReplyDeleteMy guess is that the thistle in the photo is edible. Catch the green thistle when it is plump and no purple showing. I've steamed them. Ten minutes in a steamer, dipped in butter. Yum.

Oh my gosh I hear this winter has been so hard on so many. The snowfall is quite amazing this year no doubt. I love this series and although you say it is random i see blue skies which makes me think of summer and warmer days ahead. I love to look back over old pics and am a sucker for barns too, fantastic how you captured a slice of the moon.
