We used to have an ol' Coke machine at our house when I was a kid just like that and my kept a jar of quarters by it for us to use it. What fun memories we had. Love the photos!Katiehttp://pinkepost.blogspot.com
Does the Coke machine still work? Cute little building. :) Great shot.
The old days....
Boy, that Coke machine would look awesome restored.
That photo takes me back a few years. I think every small town has "lost dreams" represented in closed places.
Nancy - I am not sure if the Coke machine works or not. I kind of think not. This old country store used to belong to my great-grandparents and they ran it back in the day.
Wonderful capture...It really gets you thinking about the "old" days.
Places like these are long gone in our area of commercial development, sucked up by the fast food giants.
My husband would be trying to buy the coke machine.....Great shot!
Quintessential rural America. Perfect capture.
Oh, what a great piece of family history! Wish it was still open and running!
What a great eye you have for things many would not even notice.--Inger
I was going to say a old gas station but then you said it was a old store. How wonderful that you have it yet standing.
This must bring back memories for you! I wonder why Coke didn't take the dispensing machine back.
Did you buy it? With a little TLC, it could be a future Tim Hortons.
I love that your grandparents used to run and own that store....great memories, I'm sure. Love the pics!
Perfect retro machine. Wonderful shots too. Enjoy your day!
Wow...terrific shots. Make that old store a wifi hotspot, and people would stream back there in a heartbeat. : ) I really like your banner pic, btw.
That is fascinating to me. That your great-grandparents ran a store from there. Amazing it's still up. I can see me fixing it up and selling fresh farm produce from there. The coke machine is cute, too.
This looks like a place where, in its day, one could have bought a really good cold cut sandwich! Great shot!
Farmchick -- sweet! An old store? Or maybe a bus stop? Your music's mood supports the photo. -- barbara
Oh I love the machine-how long has it been since I seen one like that!
How is it you can make something junky look so cool! I want a rusty Coke machine on my porch now...
OMGosh the abundant inspiration where you live and and your "eye" sure spies some really great stuff. Love that lil ol building and the old coke machine. The machine brings back a flood of memories, so fun. This is such a fantastic glimps of rural America!
Ahhhhh...an ice cold Coke. And the country scenery to go with it.
Is that a new picture in your header? It's new to me because I just focused in on all the wildflowers in bloom, and I am in love with it!I had a Coke today, the first one in a long time. SOOOOO miss Coke and Pepsi in a long tall glass bottle. Those were the days! (yes, I know Pepsi's bottle was the taller of the two!)
So many memories were brought back for me to cherish through your photos. My grandfather owned an old gas station and I remember many happy times there...Especially in front of the old coke machine...Enjoyed!
Love your blog!
Now that is one super ancient coke machine;))))
For some reason I can't explain, I really like the picture of the old Coke machine.
Great photos, makes you think...
Love small town life with its bits and pieces.
Nice...like stepping back in time! One of the things I love about working the auctions is seeing vintage stuff like this. But it's even better to see it in the proper setting!
That reminds me of the little store near my house growing up...complete with an old Coke machine, but ours had bottles in it!
No words needed and a lot of old memories dancing around...
Looks like a historic piece of machinery as it is totally different and retro looking to the ones that I am used to seeing.
Old American films on our old TV.- People have left-Coke is international.... = Great images, full of atmosphere.
