I love log cabins. But...1820's could be a bit too...um...classic for me. Unless of course, it's been remodeled with all the amenities a girl requires: e.g.: indoor plumbing, high ceilings, over-sized kitchen, laundry room etc.
Judy - The owners told me they lived in it quite a few years ago while working on the historice home that is a part of this farm. Currently it is used for storage.
That's our retirement plan. To find an old house like that and fix it up to live in. I'd rather it be an old barn, but the husband isn't on board with that.
I truly believe you should write a book, and each chapter can be a story told by one of the houses/buildings you have photographed! I just love all the hidden history lurking in each picture!.
This log home was built in the early 1820's. It resides on a large farm in our county.
ReplyDeleteCute! We used to rent a log cabin that was built in 1862. It had been added on to of course. It was fun living!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful -- did you apply some texture? Just lovely! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm no gardener, but this and the video clip was interesting. Great old log house.
