Nice shot. Bad memories. I tried to cut up on of those trunks (it was downed) once with my chainsaw, not noticing the dimple. Wrecked the chain thats for sure....
Must be very tight barbed wire fence! Goes to show you that you need to be flexible and grow around the obstacles in your life. I'm off to volunteer at Multnomah Falls in the Visitors Center - meeting people from all over the world. :-) Hugs, Teresa
Interesting how the Cedar tree spread and flattened out over the barded wire.
ReplyDeleteFunny how those pesky trees keep getting in the way of the fence lines. :)
ReplyDeleteOh I really like this. B
ReplyDeleteGreat shot.
ReplyDeleteThat had to have taken a long time for that to have happened.

ReplyDeleteGreat shot!
ReplyDeleteTroutbirder, it's lucky it only wrecked your chain. Yikes!
love it. poor used-to-be-tree!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking... in 100 years, will the tree outgrow the fence or will the wire cut the tree in half. Ah... the mystery.
ReplyDeleteLove how nature stands strong against "progress".
ReplyDeletegreat photo !!!!!

I wonder who will win--the tree or the fence?

I always like these Thursday images, but this one is something special!
ReplyDeleteCool shot!
ReplyDeleteI love that trees just grow into and evetually around things in their way, sort of quietly obstinate.
I believe Frost told us that "Good fences make good neighbors" Listening to Hot Fun in the Summertime..... ah... good memories ;-)
ReplyDeleteTHIS, I like....a simple photo, but yet it says so much...

This plain photograph is a success because of all the thoughts it stimulates.
ReplyDeleteVery cool photo!

Interesting visual impact of the wires pressing on the tree, looks like flattening it ...
ReplyDeleteLove your photographs. This is another good one.

I love it. Strong piece of wood.
ReplyDeleteJoe - I thought it was interesting how the tree ended up with this shape. Usually I just see the wire embedded in the tree.
ReplyDeleteJoLynne - That is a good question. Right now it kind of looks like the fence is taking over a bit.
ReplyDeleteVery unusual, the way it made the tree grow flat.
ReplyDeleteYour Blackberry Sorbet sure sounds refreshing in this summer heat.
Battle of the barbed wire and tree. Looks like the tree is a bit more determined....
ReplyDeleteI think the tree is screaming "don't fence me in!" Very cool capture. I love the shadowing in the background.
ReplyDeleteamazing, but poor tree !
ReplyDeleteI have to feel sorry for that tree !
