Bow and Arrow

Bow season is almost upon us and this was quite obvious when I came home from work on Friday to find this resting on the bed.

I asked Secret Agent Man just what this was about and then he proudly opened the case to reveal his hunting accouterments.

He touched the pieces lovingly and then closed the case.  I then asked if he could put it away.  He said he would put it under the bed.

Totally not what I had in mind.

  1. Whew, when you said bow and arrow season, I was worried you'd found a dead deer on your bed. So I guess it could've been worse!

  4. Well, better UNDER the bed then you on the couch and him sharing the bed all through the season with the bow and case;)

  8. Tell me about it -- two months before deer season, everything gets hauled out into the living room -- must be ready at all times! lol. :)

  13. Well...we have guns under our bed...in a safe but I'd rather have a bow! I love your bedside stack of books. I have the same even though I have moved to a Kindle and now an iPad!

  14. I'm taking notes and I still can't decide whether bows and arrows and rifles attract the women. Well, in Connecticut I am guessing I don't need to go out shopping for weaponry.

  15. You now have a bow and arrow under your bed in case you need protection against intruders during the night.

  16. It's almost that time here, too. Dh wants to get a nice bow. We have been out shooting recently. I think I love it more than he does!

  17. My nephew (who passed away in 1990 at age 18)lovvved to hunt, both with guns and bows. I, believe it or not, took archery in college and it was one of my favorite classes. :) Course, I'd probably be really nervous with one in my house (with John-Heath around, anyway).

  19. Same thing going on here! I just watched the dvd Food, Inc. After watching that I am so glad my husband is a hunter...I will never ever buy meat in the store again...or much of anything else.

  21. Oooh nice!
Looking forward to hunting season here.
I agree, though..it IS put away. Kinda.

  23. If somebody breaks in the house while SAM is out, all you have to do is drag the case out from under the bed, assemble the compound bow in about twenty-five easy steps, nock in an arrow, and shoot the intruder...

  24. Great! I wouldn't mind to have that case under my bed, but I understand that you may feel differently!

  25. whoa! if he put it under the bed to use in case of an intruder, i wonder how long it takes for him to get the bow ready to shoot!

(looks like airedale girl is thinking the same thing...... ;-)

  28. I was saving for a bow when I had my accident......so I spent the money on a new laptop, instead. Then Virginia legalized cross bows and I started saving for one of those but bought a digital camera instead. That was a good move....I like hunting with a camera better. Besides, I've already got a half full gun vault.

  29. Amanda and Airedalegirl - The under the bed thing is strictly for storage as he is running out of space everywhere else in the house. lol

  30. That's not what I thought a bow and arrow looked like. That is a serious bow. Well anyway, was just going to say, there wouldn't be room under my bed.

  31. Those things look so scary, but when you think about meat on the table...well, then it starts to look pretty good huh?
My son had his out the other day too. It's about that time again for the men to bring out their 'toys'!

  32. It's about that time up here too. My hubby isn't too into it, but several of our friends are getting that happy look in their eyes.

  33. The text on this post is amazingly funnily. If secret agent man lived near me, I would think he would either be one of these people who participate in a staged medieval battle or a circus act where the assistant in pinned to a surface with arrows around them !! ... cupid's arrow indeed !
