A couple of years ago when I turned forty I decided that I needed something to mark the occasion. I had been driving the typical, "grocery-getter", SUV, hauling my kids everywhere. So, I picked out a little, sparkly red, Cadillac CTS to zoom me around Smalltownland.
And it turned it to be just the kind of fun I needed. She is quick, good on gas, and with a sunroof, extra fun on a summer's day. I call her, "Ruby", and she is fabulous. But, this year I was thinking I might need an upgrade for Christmas. Something a little darker perhaps.
Shiny black....
Fresh and new...
Santa Baby.....are you listening?

Yea, Santa baby, if you're listening to car requests..I've been a real good girl and I would like a big black...Hummer! - Hope we both get our wish! (yours is a bit more reasonable) xo
ReplyDeleteI hope Jack Frost doesn't nip this well deserved upgrade. Black can be so mysterious and... well, you know. :)
ReplyDeleteha ha.
ReplyDeleteI'll have one, too!
ReplyDelete40 the magic year...I bought myself a little yellow (mello~yello) Ford Courier and sadly my divorce was finalized! Beautiful black Caddy...smooth lines! "Wearing" black in Florida is deadly, except in the very coldest winter months! Hope you find this stuffed in your stocking to warm your heart!
ReplyDeleteIf you want something... put in the order and thank hubby later.. I have to find what I want every Christmas.. :-)

((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Maybe if you've 'been an awfully good girl...' :)
ReplyDeleteThe wife says all that car needs is a redheaded gal in the driver's seat...
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if my wife is referring to you or herself...
Dann in Ohio
NICE!! Good luck with all that!!
ReplyDeleteI'm asking Santa to please deliver on your wishes for this new car...GORGEOUS! I think this is just what you need...
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Shug
I love how you have blog names for everything in your family, it's like a brand :-)
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to get to work by thinking up a name for this beauty at the same time that Santa Baby is working !
While he's at it we could use another Expedition.
ReplyDeleteLove your car choice. I told my husband I needed a midlife crisis car when I turn 50 which is only 3 1/2 years away. I used to say I wanted a mustang but I might be tempted to take a look at a Caddy instead! :)
ReplyDeleteSanta, did you get the message !
ReplyDeleteI hope you get your wish.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you did not ask for a Lexus! I am getting so tired of their holiday tv commercials..lol!
ReplyDeleteHa Ha. For my 40th birthday, I got a big ass SUV. mostly because an idiot hit me and totalled my suburban, but it was a nice birthday present none the less. And she's red. Shiny, shiny, red.
ReplyDeleteI sure do hope Santa is listening! Me too, Santa!!
ReplyDeletePut a "V" behind the CTS and you have a real monster on your hands. Not even the best new Camero can beat it. Best time on the 14 mile famed German Nurburgring. It beats Mercedes, BMW's and the Porsche Panamera. In otherwords, all sedan class cars plus. Might be too much HP for Smalltown but, hey, what the heck.
ReplyDeleteYou must be doing something right to get such a present! One handsome car!
ReplyDelete:) Okey doke! I'll put that on my list for you!
ReplyDeleteThat is a good idea, if Santa is listening! But now I am curious to see Ruby, did you ever post a picture of it?
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Ertha Kitt's "Santa Baby"; her version is totally cool; nothing can compare!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas
Go for it. Those No Dak gals deserve the best. Actually my daughter in law is from Bismarck. :)
ReplyDeleteHa ha - not to dispel any cherished childhood fantasies (I hope no kids are reading this) but you should try whispering in Secret Agent Man's ear !
ReplyDelete;-)
Santa Baby, A Honda CRV for me please. I've been a real good girl.
ReplyDeleteRick - Hey! I already tried that and he seems to think my current CTS is still good! lol
ReplyDeleteButch - I would love the put a V behind the CTS, but I think that adds on even more dollar signs!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful but can she perform when the snow starts flying? Looks like a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Just read War Horse on my Kindle and LOVED it! It's a great quick read! Can't wait to see the movie.
ReplyDeleteA very reasonable and logical Christmas wish:D
ReplyDeletenew cars are tempting...but I sure like the ones that are paid for...
ReplyDeletekeeping my fingers crossed for you...
I'd be happy to get the Matchbox version! Beautiful vehicle -- keep us posted. :)
