I think spring may have arrived just a tad bit early here at the farmette, but I am not complaining. We all spent most of our time outdoors this weekend, working on projects. Friday I posted some pictures of Secret Agent Man measuring our old flat-bottomed river boat. I thought he was going to rework it a bit. But no! He built an entirely new boat this weekend.
I got to work painting my bee hive, getting it ready for the arrival of the girls in April. I decided that plain white just would not do.
One lucky fellow was able to lounge in the yard and soak up some rays.
Life is good, the weather is warm and the laundry is all finished.
Amen
And a good weekend was had by all!
ReplyDeleteGlad your family enjoyed the outdoors.

I love the color you picked and I can't believe he's wearing shorts...So jealous!
ReplyDeleteWow, it does look warm there! I love the aquamarine blue shade of paint you chose for your bee hive. Fresh honey...I am so jealous, Michelle!
ReplyDeleteThe first one i consider a cool street shot!
ReplyDeleteLove the paint and the lucky fellow :)

what a wonderful weekend! We had gorgeous weather, too! Love that boat...wow!
ReplyDeleteWe had our sunny days a few days ago and then the weather forecast was for rain.. rain.. rain.. ugh. I'm glad someone had a sunny weekend. Good luck with your bees! Get some extra sheets of beeswax for the hives and roll yourself some beeswax candles. I made a ton of them many years ago to sell at the gallery at Vista House. They make great candles! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great day. I love the color you chose for your beehives.
ReplyDeleteLife is really good! Both the dog And the secret agent man !
ReplyDeleteFeel good images of accomplishment... great and small.
ReplyDeleteRelaxing is considered an accomplishment.
and the color you went for is just beautiful!:)
ReplyDeleteThat is great, I would have helped him gladly!
ReplyDeleteLove your projects!
ReplyDeleteHey, is Honeybee good? I've never heard of it, but it sounds interesting.
NOTHING better than laundry that is finished! Looks like a great weekend was had by all.
ReplyDeletedoesn't spring just make you want to do stuff...like building a boat or painting the bee hives! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI suppose that color has nothing to do with the bees accepting or denying the hive? I know nothing about bees or their hives except for what I have seen or read a few places, I don't think that I would ever feel comfortable being around a bee hive. And they would sense it, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteA hearty tip of the hat to Secret Agent Man -- that's impressive! You know...you're going to have to post pics of that boat in the water (to reassure us of his boat making abilities). Hope your colorful hive attracts lots of bees. And, you are fortunate to have two such loyal 4-legged helpers on site. (The Jack Russell looks like he's about to 'secure' some loose trash...and the lab is securing the lawn.) All that accomplished with one less hour -- congrats!
ReplyDeleteHe constructed a new boat in a weekend? Wowzers! That's amazing.
ReplyDeleteThe weather here today is wonderful too. Spent part of the day cleaning up old plant debris. Fun, fun, fun. :)
Building a boat, painting a beehive. Those are good projects. I hope you have a peaceful day! p.s. I have all the books except 3 on your Shelfari!
ReplyDeleteWhat great projects...I would want a colorful beehive too!
ReplyDeleteHe managed to do that in one weekend? I am impressed. (like your pretty blue paint, too.)
ReplyDeletehow cool michelle - do you keep bees, or are you using the hive for another project?
ReplyDeleteYou're getting bees!!! You will love it.
ReplyDeleteLoved Marina's book too. : )

Like your bee hive color -- beekeeping has always interested me -- unfortunately the closest I came to it was having an old wooden bee hive as a garden ornament -- barbara
ReplyDeleteI think your beehives are going to be gorgeous! Love the color. Love your Jack Russell!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the bee box color. I couldn't have just white either ;)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great weekend! I love the boat, he's a very talented craftsman.
