A couple of weeks ago, Secret Agent Man decided to build a new river boat....in a weekend.
For real....
I received a few skeptical comments about the boat's ability to float, so I wanted to make sure to provide some proof of its buoyancy.
It made its inaugural run this weekend. Floating like a champ.
A few fish were even caught.
The Deerslayer caught the most.
Maybe I need to change his nickname.....

impressive
ReplyDeleteJust plane cool!
ReplyDeleteWoops plain, lazy spell checker. Blame the iPad.
ReplyDeletesweet!!!
ReplyDeleteIf the Deerslayer cleaned his catch, his name is CHAMP in my book!
ReplyDeleteLove the boat...DH did good building it!
it's a beautiful boat! someone thought it wouldn't float? silly. ha.
ReplyDeleteHow about that!!! Now you can call the deerslayer most anything you want but I call him....cute:)
ReplyDeleteThat is just plain cool that hubby built his own boat and so quickly! We're just wondering how he waterproofed it? How fun to make a boat for your kids to fish in, I'd say he's an A-1 champion DAD! Then I showed my hubby your rolls and put in an order for them. LOL!
ReplyDelete((hugs)), Teresa :-)
I think this is so cool!
ReplyDeleteHow nice to be able to build your own boat. And....those fish-eez are cute!
How relaxing to be in the new boat and to fish on the river.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of a funny book I recommend, titled "The boat that wouldn't float" by Farley Mowat.
I glad your boat floats!
wow, how cool to build your own boat, and it floats! looks like the perfect afternoon :)
ReplyDeleteBuilding a boat in a weekend..wow, pretty impressive, actually, building a boat at all is pretty impressive! Have fun! xo
ReplyDeleteI am impressed. He did a great job.
ReplyDeleteFamily... fishin'... kids... home-built boat... that THAT is what should float your boat...
ReplyDeleteDann in Ohio
That's one cool boat and your kids are so blessed with parents like you two who took care to create such a wonderful environment for them to grow up in.
ReplyDeleteNice shot of the Deerslayer!
ReplyDeleteOne continues to believe you live in a dream. Please have you all a good new week ahead.
ReplyDeleteBuilding a boat in one weekend is quite an accomplishment. Good to see it did float.
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome! I never doubted for even a second that it would not float...The boat rocks.
ReplyDeleteVelva
Looks like SAM built a superb vessel. I wouldn't change Deerslayers nick unless it has a link to something cooler or manly. lol
ReplyDeleteHow was your fish dinner?
Looks like it was a great outing.
ReplyDeleteLove those shots!
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed. A home built fishin boat. And two eager fisherpersons...:)
ReplyDeleteWow, good for him!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice treip, I am glad that the boat is OK! My compliments to the craftmanship of Secret Agent Man...
ReplyDeleteDrove through your beautiful state this past week, going south and coming back. LOVED the red buds, dogwood, and other flowering trees that decorated our way. Such a beautiful contrast from last years chilly scenes. Hope we don't have to pay for our early spring though. My apple trees have blooms on them, and there are frost/freeze warnings out for the next two nights :-( What will be will be. Your husband's boat, to quote a favorite old movie of mine, looks "Yar." Not sure what that means, but that's what Katherine Hepburn said about the boat she and Cary Grant had in The Philadelphia Story, and it sounded grand!
ReplyDeleteI am so impressed by the boat building and the fish catching. What a great time. B
ReplyDeleteLove that he made a boat! I live in the city and would never think of being able to build something like that. It looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteCool!!! You could call him Fish Boy.
ReplyDeleteLooks like your husband's boat will be used often by the family -- barbara
ReplyDeleteNow that takes skills! My Dh takes about a month just to plan a project!
ReplyDeleteI had no doubt it would float!! Awesome job...and what fun!!
ReplyDeleteEveryone was happy with their catch !
ReplyDeleteLove this. Love that your hubby built a boat and love that it was enjoyed by your family. Looks like it was a really great day.
ReplyDeleteSome carpentry talent right there!
ReplyDeleteSo now, they see the proofs. Isn't it grand?!
ReplyDeletePoor Deerslayer. I guess that nickname doesn't translate well to fish. He's a good sport though.
ReplyDeleteWe're getting our bass boat ready for some river cruising and I'm so excited.
Very cool and looks like a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteNext up: frog gigging! It's a family tradition on your husband's side!
ReplyDeletehow awesome..and sharing with his sister...too cool...
