Well.....it's hot. I am sure that is not a newsflash for anyone even remotely close to my fine state of Kentucky. Temps are well above the 100 degree mark and will stay that way past the weekend. Sir Charles has taken to resting on the loveseat....in extreme comfort as you can see.
The bees have been hanging out on their front porch in the evenings.
Me?.....Well, I have been scheming with my camera, as usual. Here is a fine portrait of me and Secret Agent Man in front of our ancient farmhouse.
I had my son snap this pic and he pronounced it to be ridiculous. I think I might have to frame it.
BTW, I think the tractor contraption from Thoughtless Thursday is a sprayer and, as far as I could tell, it was being used in the adjoining field. Rusty tractors....a thing of beauty forever.

Not too sure about the bees, but don't mind them when they supply the honey...love Sir Charles~~~what a clown. But my favorite is of you and your man. What a great memory saved.

ReplyDeleteI am sorry it is so hot there it is just right here we have wind and sun with a temp about your 85F we are lucky. Take care and stay hydrated. Off to bale hay.
I love the rusty tractor thingy:) B
I'd frame it too! Pup looks completely relaxed- and I always thought heat made bees and wasps mad..don't know why.
ReplyDeleteIt's miserable hot here too. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteAWESOME pic!
Hope you're doing okay in the heat. Here in Oregon it's 65.1. :-) The dog picture is a hoot! And I absolutely love the shot of you two.. the S&H green stamp sign brought back memories. I did my share of licking and pasting those into books to get something I wanted when I was young! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the photo of you and the Mr. what a sweet couple!
ReplyDeleteLucky you having that S&H green stamp sign. I'm old enough to remember licking stamps and adding to the pages for my mother and grandmother.
Have a great weekend...try and stay cool. xo
Yes, that's a great take on a famous painting. This one with much, much better looking farm folks. It should definitely be framed and hung somewhere prominently. Love Sir Charles resting pose, my Soldier knows how to sleep too, anywhere, through anything. Sorry about the high temps, I guess it's humid too. I remember N. J. and how awful it could get.
ReplyDeleteYep, definitely framable!! ha
ReplyDeleteGirl, hot doesn't even describe this crap!!! I only hope no one shoots fireworks this weekend. surely to goodness they will have more sense. we are sitting on a powder keg here!
That is an awesome picture of you and SAM. Also.. I LOVE to see pictures and hear about your bees! They interest me so much.
ReplyDeleteWonderful series of family portraits! ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove the photo. Think it is definitely a keeper. I am not venturing outside anymore today. THis heat is crazy :)
ReplyDeleteThe bees would make me very afraid. But am living in a city for too long ...
ReplyDeletePlease have you all a good weekend.
I want your dog's life. And I love the American gothic portrait.
ReplyDeleteThe portrait is a great shot, don't let your son make you believe otherwise. It might be comfortable but I hope Sir Charles' back is ok after that !!
ReplyDeleteMy son would probably have said the same thing... tsk what do they know! I'd frame that one too! lol...
ReplyDeleteOh boy, it sure is hot down this way too, 105 today! Love this post! That photo is great, Love the pitchfork! (nice touch ;) Love your beautiful hair! Love rusty old tractors too - so much history. I didn't realize you were in Kentucky. My grandparents are from there. Beautiful state! Love that too! I suppose I could've just said I Love everything about this post but that wouldn't have been as much fun. ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of you two. I really like your green stamps sign too.
ReplyDeleteI have to know -- did you have Lisa and Oliver in mind when you posed for the photo? Or maybe you are to young to remember that one... Lol. :)
ReplyDeleteAmerican Gothic or what!
ReplyDeleteI think the picture is PERFECTLY ridiculous and needs to be framed. Love it!
ReplyDeleteLove the picture of you and your secret agent.
ReplyDeletecindy
Funny puppy photo! Neat picture of you and hubby. Seeing that S&H green stamps sign reminds me of when my Mom used to collect them.
ReplyDeleteHa! Your dog photo is a hoot.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of hoots, you need to flip the double portrait. Grant Wood put the man on the left.
Yep-- the American Gothic couple -- have you spoken with Grant Woods lately? -- barbara
ReplyDeleteI L.o.v.e. this picture!! Stay cool...
ReplyDelete((the picture of you and secret agent man))
ReplyDeleteNeat shots. A little American Gothic in sunglasses. Have seen a S&H Green Stamp sign in years.
ReplyDeleteDarryl and Ruth :)
Love the photo!!! I also love the S & H Green Stamps sign, how adorable is that! Hope you get some relief from the heat soon. It's in the Northeast now, and I can't wait for it to leave!
ReplyDeleteI love your RED hair!!!! It is HAWT and with our humidty our heat index in unreal. This is the first time our weeds/lawn is brown so early. I hope the bees are not making honey in your house they can really make a mess.
ReplyDeleteso was that cake as delicous as it looked? I coulda shot ya girl for that photo....
You must frame it :) I loved all the pics!
ReplyDeleteThe photo of you and hubbie is brilliant! Do not let the comments of teenage boys deter you! :)
