Perfection is not truly attainable. But, yesterday was pretty close. Started the day off with low temps, cool breezes and doors to this old house open wide. That beautiful weather hung around all the live long day.
Right down the road, I came across a tobacco field in the process of being cut. By days end half of the field was finished. Really a lot of work. The plant is cut, put on a stick, and will be hung in the barn to dry.
The evening had me at a local Bluegrass festival enjoying the likes of JD Crowe and the New South.
A sunset on the way home just topped off the day.
Not perfect, but pretty darn close.

The secret is in enjoying what life throws at you, isn't it? And when life is kind and throws a day like that, well . . . perfection!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, you did have a near perfect day. Glad you did. Where was the bluegrass festival?
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing better than a perfect summer's day in my book! I'm happy to hear you had a lovely day! I hope your week is just as great!
ReplyDeleteMary
sounds wonderful all the way around!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great day and, yes, close to perfect! These are the days to remember come December, right? Thanks for sharing. John
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely day! We are having that same weather. It's unbelievable compared to just a few days ago. Feels wonderful to have the house open, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfectly perfect day!
ReplyDeleteFlorida Farm Girl - The Bluegrass Festival was actually put on by our local Cattleman's Association. Right here in Smalltownland.
ReplyDeleteNothing better than an outdoor concert.
ReplyDeleteDoes indeed looks like a wonderful day. Your first photo really captures my imagination.
ReplyDeleteIt does look like a perfect day! I can see how cutting and hanging tobacco leaves is work intensive. It looks like the drought wasn't too bad in your area.
ReplyDeleteIt's still a little too warm here for my comfort but I know in a few weeks the first hints of autumn are going to arrive and I'm so ready for them!
Sounds purrrrrfect.
ReplyDeletesounds lovely - godo for you!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a great weekend you enjoyed! We had rain and cooler temps, also. Makes me so anxious for Autumn!
ReplyDeleteYesterday was pretty great. Makes me look forward to fall.
ReplyDeleteThat tobacco field harvest combined with bluegrass festival has me wishing I was in driving distance for some Kentucky perfection! Love it.
ReplyDeleteSounds perfect to me! Sun, fresh air, beautiful scenery and music. Can't improve on that! xx
ReplyDeleteOh, I love those kind of days! You're pictures are great, as usual. Here's to more almost perfect days.... :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's why I've always been drawn to 'small town life'. I'll take it!
ReplyDeleteLooks like an excellent day to me!
ReplyDeleteLove days like that!
ReplyDeleteYes, ma'am, I'd say it was purty perfect, too! I'm SO looking forward to some cooler temps!
ReplyDeleteI think it's neat how the tobacco is harvested. We have some friends that came by an old tobacco wagon - big ole thing - that they hang all the tobacco sticks on and carry it to the barn. REALLY neat piece of southern history. I love that stuff!
This was more close to perfection than mine!
ReplyDeleteLOVELY! I wish I had your life! I just want to jump out of mine sometimes....
ReplyDeleteYours seems so much more relaxing.
Fortune has fallen on you to have such a perfect day. I love it any day I can swing the doors open and raise the windows...let the breeze roll on in. Thanks for stopping by and always leaving kindness behind.
ReplyDeleteBlessYa
Toe tapping and a dance with
ReplyDeletethat fella you call Mr. Romance!
After-all, you said a perfect day
or as close to one as you could
expect. ;-)
Pure happiness!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a great day. A cool day in August in the South is a true blessing.
ReplyDeleteSounds perfect to me:) B
ReplyDeletePretty close to perfection that's for sure....;)
ReplyDeleteI agree with the first commentator
ReplyDeleteand yes it probably as close as you can get to perfect !
Cool front coming our way.....yippee! Can't wait!
