My calendar tells me that the Fall Equinox doesn't arrive until the 22nd of this month, but as far as I am concerned Fall is here. Labor Day weekend always marks the true end of Summer for me. Even though Isaac is dropping a bit of rain here today and hampering my fall decorating, rest assured that the front porch of this old house will soon appear as such....possibly with more pumpkins from our field.
I also can't wait until the trees in the pasture start to change color. I have often thought how nice it would be to live at the beach on a permanent basis, but I truly know I would miss the change of seasons.
What about you?
Are you ready for Fall?

Your home and fall decorations are gorgeous! I am beginning to pull out my fall accessories. LIke you, September 1 is when I get in the mood! Fall is my fav time of the year!
ReplyDeleteI am SO ready for cooler weather, whether that means fall or not. We don't get the glorious colors that you do, though.
ReplyDeleteSpring has sprung here in the Southern Hemisphere and to see the wattle trees in full bloom is something to behold. In saying that, Autumn (Fall) is by far my favourite season. I hope you have a great one there. Best wishes. Jeff.
ReplyDeletecongrats on getting some rain! isaac was a bust for us in NE Tx. we're still in the 100s this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love looking at and buying fall items to decorate with - pumpkins, gourds, etc. I love the oranges, golds, yellows, and other warm colors of fall. Yes, I'm ready.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite time of year. I can't believe your leaves are yellow already.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, I am definitely ready for autumn, my favorite time of year. I can smell it in the air..... :)
ReplyDeleteYour front porch definately puts me in the mood for some fall decorating! It looks very welcoming! Yes, I am ready for fall and can't wait to see the beautiful fall colors. Hope you have a nice holiday weekend, Michelle. xx
ReplyDeleteLove those pumpkins on your porch..I also yearn for a beachy lifestyle, just too different from what I am used to!!
ReplyDeleteWe are still green up here, but I expect fall to arrive earlier than usual. The cooler weather has been divine.
ReplyDeleteI missed the four season when I lived in So. California for over 30 years and I love it here in the mountains, particularly in the fall and winter. I know your home will be just lovely by the time you are done with it. And your kids will have great memories of pumpkins on the porch when they grow up.
ReplyDeleteI am so ready for Fall! This year we will be traveling through Minnesota, North and South Dakota during Autumn and I hope this Fall will be as pretty as I remember! Enjoy your weekend!!
ReplyDeleteAutumn and winter are my favourite seasons, so you bet I'm ready!
ReplyDeleteLove the pumpkins. No one decorates here. Except me...
I'm with you.. September 1st is when I give myself the permission to pull out the fall decor. Our weather is still gorgeous here, but some leaves are turning.. now where is that fall wreath? I asked hubby to get me a bail of straw next time he's at the feed store.. I'm going to put it by my back door and put pumpkins on it!! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteFall has always been my favorite time of year! I'm already feeling the tugging to drive up to the north Georgia mountains! (And we lived in Florida for 3 years... hated never seeing the seasons change!)
ReplyDeleteFall is my favorite season! I am so ready to pull out all my decorations. Your front porch is awesome.. wish I had a place that big to decorate.. I would go wild!
ReplyDeleteI hang on to summer as long as I can...it isn't fall to me till atleast October closer to Halloween...but of course I'm from Texas...
ReplyDeleteRoom temperature still above 85F during midday over here. No rain since about Easter. Oranges and Lemons already green. Miss autumn much. Please have you all a good new week.
ReplyDeleteNot ready - only because it means that the dark days of winter are close behind. That is the poignancy of fall - so beautiful, so temporary. . .
ReplyDeleteNew England colors changing before your eyes in the backyard and beyond. Gotta love it.
ReplyDeletewow...look at those pumpkins! You really are ready! I don't put out any decor until the official first day, though. Your tree is lovely...we don't have anything that has turned completely like that. Can't wait!
ReplyDeletelove the look of your house...very country feeling. and the old S&H sign is a cool too!
ReplyDeletei LOVE fall...and winter.

i like the beach for a visit...wouldn't want to live there...i just prefer the woods.
Oh Am I EVER!
ReplyDeleteLove this season....and you have a beautiful place for it:)
Is this your place? It looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely ready for spring here although we nearly had a frost agin this morning, looks to be the last of the cold mornings with warmer temperatures forecast from here on. 1st September marks change of season in Australia and it seems to fit well.
Pieces of Sunshine - Yes, this is my home and farm in these photos. Hopefully I will get more pumpkins out on the porch this weekend, when the rain stops!
ReplyDeleteI agree. We have beautiful maples and I would definitely miss their gorgeous show each fall and the bright greens of spring. However, I do know the beauty that surrounds our Great Lakes, and it would be the best of both worlds.
ReplyDeleteBlessYa
How boring without a change of seasons. I'm with your onthat one!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely not ready for autumn, because we haven't had a summer!
ReplyDeleteI love how you decorate your houses seasonally in the US. No such thing here in Scotland as a rule.
It is arrived suddenly with cold weather and some rain, but I am sure it won't last: we'll have hot sunny days again for a while...
ReplyDeleteYour house looks fantastic! So ready for fall!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, and I love the background music. Jim
ReplyDeleteinterestingly enough...one fall we had beautiful fall colors right here on the gulf!!! so fun...so pretty!
ReplyDeleteHonestly, Michelle, I do miss fall. It's such a beautiful time of the year and seeing pumpkins on people's steps was so nice.
ReplyDeleteI love autumn, so I am ready. :))
ReplyDeletelove your porch!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors of fall- and I especially love the crisper weather- but for me it starts in October. I'm one of the last ones to think about decorating around here.
Your porch look so inviting!
ReplyDeleteI love the change of seasons.
ReplyDeleteSame here but I think you got more rain. Cincinnati down had more rain. Weather men and women were forecasting 2 to 5 inches, we may have gotten one on Monday. I put up a picture today that shows our trees are changing, not all the trees but a whole lot more than normal.
ReplyDeleteWell, we might not be ready for fall, but because of the drought the trees here certainly are.
ReplyDeleteLove that porch shot !
I am sooooo ready for fall. Nothing here has started changing colors but when it does, it is usually when our hunting season is in full swing so I get to sit in the middle of all those beautiful colors and enjoy it!!
ReplyDeleteYour house is GORGEOUS!!!
