This weekend marks the first time in many months that our family does not have a sporting event to attend.
Both the football team and basketball team ended their season with a district runner-up title. The football coach resigned at the end of their last game Friday night, leaving the players with many questions as to who will lead them in the spring.
The trap team ended their season with many victories and wonderful times together.
And so today marks a season of rest. Today I shall endeavor not to leave the farmette.
I shall spend some time in the kitchen and I think I see a long walk in my future for the afternoon.
"Home is where you can go and rest and be nothing."
Marty Rubin

Contrary to what some people think - resting in your home should not be over-rated! I LIVE for time at home! I really enjoy being in my little sanctuary, no matter how humble it is!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful & restful day!
Marty Rubin has a point, and once in a while rest is the best!
ReplyDeleteI have missed reading your blog. Reading it this morning makes me aware what I am missing when I don’t take the time to slow down.
ReplyDeleteCindy

ReplyDeleteEven coaches need a rest. it's great the team enjoyed so much success playing together. These are the moments they'll look back at fondly.
ReplyDeleteAnd so it is... a day's rest at the 'farmette'. Home sweet Home!
Enjoy the (relative) calm!!!
ReplyDeleteWe had a day looming ahead of us with no plans and I was so pleased.. but the phone just rang and our son's wife is cooking up something.. my poor house needs some tidy-ing!! Enjoy your walk. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

ReplyDeleteWell, unless you live on a farm with animals and a workaholic farmer......but I feel your relief. Basketball is over? We are just starting and don't finish until March. You live close enough to Indiana to know how crazy it gets up here about basketball; we are just getting ready to start on all levels. Enjoy your rest,
ReplyDeleteThat last shot is a winner!
ReplyDeleteI've been resting more than usual this weekend too... love that you are able to slow down a bit...
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle, That first photo ... sunset through the trees, is just wonderful. Sports results sound good. And that leaf photo encourages me to do a similar one. Really a nice shot there. Have a great day. John

Nothing better than a whole weekend of just chilling out at home.
ReplyDeleteYou are fortunate that your kids are involved with team sports. They are great learning opportunities, as well as ways to stay fit and have fun. I hope you had a good walk. I was kind of lazy yesterday, if you overlook 18 holes of golf. I think I need to take a long walk today.
ReplyDeleteour weekends have quieted a bit too now that football is over. we have small break now before basketball starts! then it will be spring and baseball season before we know it!
ReplyDeleteI love weekends like that. They sure seem few and far between, though.
