"Making resolutions is a cleansing ritual of self assessment and repentance that demands personal honesty and ultimately, reinforces humility. Breaking them is part of the cycle."
Eric Zorn
Well, maybe I have just a few simple ones like..... take more photographs, grow a better garden, learn to can a few more vegetables, read more books, read more books, and read more books.
I might have a few goals, but let's not get crazy. I shall not be:
giving up coffee
or
getting up early on Saturday mornings
Some things are just too precious to do away with.

Morning Michelle, I could never give up a good hot cup of coffee or good book.......Love the old barn picture......Blessings Francine.
ReplyDeleteI no longer believe in making resolutions. They never worked for me. I'm glad to see you're not taking the resolution thing tooo seriously.. Have a great day!
ReplyDeletei'm a drinker of coffee when i want to. not one who has to have it to wake up. i wish you well with that one. getting up early on saturday. wow, that is the one day the hubby can sleep in. ha. ha!! you have picked some tough ones. ouch!! ( :
ReplyDeleteAgreed! I didn't set any goals this year. I will set them along the way I guess.
ReplyDeleteI have set a few goals, really they are ongoing... but I agree that sleep is precious (but I do get up early on Saturdays in order to get more images!)
ReplyDeleteI'm not giving up my a.m. coffee either! Love your photo. What kind of books do you enjoy?
ReplyDeleteYes, I would hang on to those two!! :)
ReplyDeleteGood Morning...
ReplyDeleteI so agree! I didn't make a resolution, but in my mind, I know the things that I want to do better this coming year...
Have a great Friday and weekend..
Hugs
My sentiments too.
ReplyDeleteI didn't do resolutions, tho I won't change anything other than continue to try living a good life.
ReplyDeleteJust the thought of giving up sets us up for failure, I believe. That said, I'm giving up the rest of the sweets I still eat this year. Strictly for medical reasons though. Keeping my diabetes under control becomes more and more serious an issue as the years go by. Happy New Year to you and your family, Michelle.
ReplyDeleteI like this! We should do resolutions of things we would never do :-D.
ReplyDeleteOh you made me laugh this morning. Give up coffee and get up early not high on my list either lately. No resolutions for me I am a failure when I have to think about what I NEED to give up or do. My resolution is to just hopefully fall into it not force myself:) B
ReplyDeleteAmen!
ReplyDeleteAmen!
ReplyDeletegood girl. :)
ReplyDeleteI like making resolutions throughout the year, one resolution at time. That way I can only fail at one before trying another. :))
ReplyDeletehaha...how about we resolve to drink more coffee and sleep later on Saturdays? :)
ReplyDeleteI have already tried too many times, so no resolutions for me...
ReplyDeleteha. i don't do resolutions...goals sounds better. whatever you do...or don't do...just BE happy in 2013!
ReplyDeleteHaha, you gotta know where to draw the line! I'm with you on the coffee and waking up early thing :)
ReplyDeletei agree! i just need to really get out of this holiday lazy rutt and the horrible way i've been eating. back on track monday..although that's not a resolution, just every day life!
ReplyDeleteI like the simple ones I can accomplish too...I agree...we don't want to get too crazy! Happy New Year!!
ReplyDeleteI made a resolution this year to not make resolutions.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and your family. Don't make if you will break it only makes you feel down. I think folks take on to many things these days, anyway why over load yourselves Just a good walk, food a hug and a lay down in front of a warm fire.
ReplyDeleteThats what makes us dogs happy.
Oh and blog :)
Have a Good week
See Yea George xxx
Michelle, I think you are living a great life. Let the other folk make the resolutions. Just keep doing what you are doing.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't survive without coffee or extra sleep! Mine is always to exercise more and I often fail at it!
ReplyDeleteTell you what you should do aswell.... Read more book !!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy 2013 Michelle
Give up coffee... pbftt! That'd be crazy talk!
ReplyDeleteI want to actually get my garden planted this year! I think I was avoiding the neighbors on that side of the house last year... and too much other stuff going on...
I always make the same resolutions - eat healthier and lose weight. I never do either thing. ::sigh:: Oh well!
ReplyDelete((hugs)), Teresa :-)
I agree with the books one!
ReplyDeleteWe have such similar goals for the year! But, my coffee is staying just like it is. No need to change a good thing :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great list Michelle and agree, lets not mess with a good thing. Just finishing up my 2nd cup of coffee this morning :).
ReplyDeleteHope to manage the two I made. Still 359 days left.
ReplyDeletePlease have you all a good Sunday.
Goals chosen with common sense seem to be the best/most attainable! Lo: :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't make resolutions anymore but I do review the prior year and think about this next one. I love your ideas and yes some things are here to stay!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
ReplyDeleteFunny, getting up early on Saturdays is one of my resolutions. Time at home is so precious when I'm out at work all week.
