Frog Hypnotism

I am lucky in regards to my children loving the outdoors.  No matter the weather, they are outside, usually getting dirty.

My daughter, and her friend, found this lovely frog just the other day.  They were fascinated by his sticky toe pads and wanted to carry him around all day long.  They even wanted to bring him in the house.  I had to veto that idea.

Then they started discussing frog hypnotism.  My daughter said that if you lay the frog on his back, and rub his tummy, that it would hypnotize him.

Though Mr. Frog was tolerant, he wasn't really down with that idea.

He was free to go after his play date with the girls.  Seemingly no worse for the wear.

"If it's your job to eat a frog, it's best to do it first thing in the morning.  And if it's your job to eat two frogs, it's best to eat the biggest one first."

Mark Twain

  1. There are many tiny, tiny frogs all over our yard this week. I've never seen that before even though we always see grown ones. Cute.

  4. aw...he's adorable!

So, I'm wondering what they would have made the frog do if they had hypnotized him? haha. Maybe they should have tried swinging a pocket watch in front of him. "You're getting sleepy. Very, very sleepy!" haha.

  6. I love it that her nail polish matched the frog. That way, when the frog saw her finger he probably thought it was just a baby frog. (grin)

  31. My Mom loved frogs or toads. She would always term them as "froggies or toadies". I had to have a pet frog when I was young. My BFF and I each had one. Mine died in a week. Her's lived all summer into the fall. Thanks for the blog loving to my doggie, Duchess.

  38. Frogs are wonderful! :). And i love their 'singing'. If you have a lot around your farm or yard, it means your place is healthy and excellent for wildlife! :)

I'm glad your kids love nature and the outdoors. That's great. And this is going to make me sound really old, but i seem to hear a lot about kids watching too much TV and playing with too many electronic gadgets nowadays. That's too bad...

  39. This made me chuckle! A very different frog to our British ones - I don't think we have any with sticky toes.
