Happy Father's Day, Dad

A somewhat fuzzy, but sweet, photo of my dad as a teenager with his Aunt Maple.

My Dad spent a career serving in the Air Force.  He always made sure we had what we needed.

He served three isolated tours of duty, meaning he couldn't take his family with him for the year.  We missed him greatly.

He is where I get my love of The Rolling Stones, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and so many other classics.

While in high school I drove a 1968 Mustang that my dad worked on with great fervor.  The other kids thought I was cool.  When I couldn't get it started, maybe I didn't think so.

He is the encouraging person who has made me the beekeeper that I am.

I miss living close to him.

Love you and miss you dad!

  2. Awe this is so sweet Michelle. MY dad was in the Air Force 26 years from thr time I was born till after I was out of College. Funny enough he loved the same bands ha ha and a very big country fan. We traveled a lot as a family He had several isolated tours several times too. Miss him . Hugs from one Air Force brat to another. :)

  4. Oh Michelle I was from an Air Force family too! My dad was in the Air Force from the time I was born until I graduated college! We traveled so much. My mom, my sister and I always came to New England and spent part of the Summer here at this farm when I was growing up , unless we were stationed over seas. I do miss my dad so much. Hugs from one Air Force brat to another.
