Thoughtful Thursday

A sidewalk along the historic town square here in Smalltownland.

This morning I will leave the farmette to meet with the group of ladies in my, "teaching team".  This truly marks the end of summer for me.  A bit of sadness yes, but it has been a great time of reading, relaxing, sleeping late, growing things, reading, softball, trap shooting, and more reading.  What more could I ask for?

"Good friends, good books, and a sleepy conscience:  this is the ideal life."

  9. The picture is so neat, it doesnt look real. I love things like that. For us, school begins 8-8 and it seems it was just out last week. Time flies when you are resting, relaxing and having fun doesnt it? What do you teach? My middle daughter teaches high school English, does the yearbook and teaches Journalism. She is not ready for it to begin again.

  15. It's hard to think about the summer coming to an end. For me, it just means more people on the streets in the mornings, as all the kids who drive are racing to school, to beat the bell. I've enjoyed no traffic this summer, on my way to work. Glad you have enjoyed your days!!

  16. Beautiful and interesting photo! Summer's end is always bittersweet. But the best thing about summer coming to a close is that autumn is around the corner! My favorite time of year. Good memories of your summer and love Mark Twain. xo
