Random Five Friday

Talk about life being in fast forward, let's look at this picture.  My daughter, third from the right, celebrated Homecoming, as a candidate, this week.  How crazy early is that?!

Obviously I should have payed more attention in my high school chemistry class.  I have to take a few minutes and review my son's notes before I can converse/help him study.  Whew.....

First football game of the season tonight!

This article really describes me.  How about you?

I am wearing some big earrings to work today.  I hope my students are prepared!  lol

Linking up with Nancy!

  3. Our neighbors recently bought a giant TV and we saw the game through their window as we walked past last night. We were walking home from the beach. We watched the sunset on a giant screen and it was free!

  5. Your daughter is just lovely, and how exciting for her!! I was in band, in high school, so football season was my life (and I had such a crush on the star of the football team!). Those were the days.

Yes, that list describes me almost 100%. I don't think #6 & #8 apply to me, or #14, but most definitely all the others, and a huge yes to #11. That is an interesting article! Thanks for the link! I really never thought about traits of an introvert like that.

  11. It seems very early for homecoming. I always thought I'm an introvert to the extreme, but there were actually a few points in the article that didn't exactly fit me - hmmmm. Very cute photo of your daughter!

  14. A very sweet daughter you have - one really notices how the time flies, when one's children are growing up! And I did notice many similarities from the article :-)

  15. The girls all look so happy ! :)

  16. Your daughter is just as cute as can be.

I am a "secret introvert," too. On Myers Briggs, I test as an INTJ. Because I am friendly and communicative and self-confident, people think I am an extrovert. I have to tell them that I am smart enough to know that I need to network and mix and "act like an extrovert," but it takes a toll on me and I would rather leave the party and take a long, solitary walk.

  17. Oh that is so not me. I really dislike downtime.

  18. Wow - WAY crazy early!
Our kids won't even start school until the first week of September!
Homecoming is always such a "Fall" thing for us.

We ARE getting into football mode, though.. scrimmages against other small town highschools all day tomorrow, and on to the Friday night lights next week! Speaking of which, I have some awfully smelly practice gear to wash up for the scrimmage tomorrow.

  19. So here's my introverted problem. Can you help? My alone, unproductive time is guiltless to me. OTHERS find it a problem at times. What to say? Do?

  20. I've been introverted my entire life and the older I get, I make no secret about it. Shyness plays a big part in that for me.

Congrats on your daughter's nomination! :)

  21. Your daughter is lovely. Doesn't school always remind us of how fast they are growing ... I have one in 12th grade this year. Can't believe it.

  23. My dil wears big earrings. I don't know how she does it with a toddler always grabbing at them. I like your link...I truly think if I had to label myself- this would be it.

  24. It does pull at your heartstrings when you see your precious daughter growing up! So sweet. Oh, I remember those busy, crazy days. They seem endless, but they go by too fast! I am the definition of an introvert. And I love being that way! Hugs xo

  25. You convey the essence of motherhood in your blog. There's something sweet and at the same time bittersweet when you talk about your children that seems so real to me who never had any kids of my own. I loved this post.

  26. Very nice. They all look so very young. Troutbirder - According to 21 of 23 measures the total and complete introvert. I did have suspicions about this already though....;)

  31. Oh dear, I don't understand any of this! You'll have to translate for me - what is homecoming and what does it mean to be a candidate?

Daughters are so precious, and yours is a beautiful young lady. Just now I'm excited about mine coming home at the weekend from 10 weeks in Canada, where she's been working in her university long vacation.
