So Late So Soon

"How did it get so late so soon?  It's night before it's afternoon.  December is here before it's June.  My goodness how the time has flewn.  How did it get so late so soon?"

Dr. Seuss

My thoughts exactly as I watch summer vanish before my eyes.

  3. So true...I've been watching WW to see how early they put out Halloween items- last year one store had all three holidays going at once... smh Seems Mother Nature is in a hurry too these days.

  4. Time seems to accelerate with age. I haven't figured it out but it could have something to do with living in the present when you get older and when young it seemed like I was always looking forward to some event which has the illusion of making time go slower. It used to take about 2 years for Christmas to arrive!

  6. I know - it's crazy right? I couldn't believe it when it got dark so early last night. The end of summer totally snuck up on me and bit me in the butt!

  13. I totally get this. I want it to be summer all year! I am trying to do a CRAZY cleaning of my house so that we can start to live again. I truly feel like we have been so cluttered by stuff that we spend time cleaning and cleaning.....

  14. Yep, my thoughts as well! I feel like I haven't fully enjoyed the summer yet, but it's just about gone already. With the cool weather we've been having lately, it's like fall is already here!

  17. Michelle -- Love your Dr Seuss quote. I will forward it on to a few folks. Like your header. I know school is almost ready to start again -- just yesterday I was preparing to go back to school -- oh no -- that was many years ago -- time! ~~ barbara

  18. Great shot to illustrate the quote. Summer is slipping away and we have to go with it.

  19. I will be sorry for the end of a 24°C (75°F) summer, but not too much for this 32°C (90°C) heat wave...

  25. I, too, cannot believe we are already one week into August. I love the Fall though, and we have a couple of vacations then to look forward to, so it's all good.

  27. I'm sure your year revolves around the school year, and sadly, for you the summer is over or rapidly over. I am free of the school rhythms these days, but I still share that feeling. We are experiencing days in the 70s and cool nights, which are wonderful but feel more like September than August.

  30. Autumn comes early to Colorado--or so I've been told--so I also feel summer slipping away. I do look forward to seeing autumn here--which I am told also arrives and leaves quickly. I guess winter is Colorado's longest season..lol! Thank goodness the winters here are not s cold and bitter.

    Enjoy your last summer days!
