I think the very same thing!
Supposedly the plants that have blooms that attract insects don't rely on putting out pollen like ragweed does. The ragweed bloom is green and can hardly be seen so it blows pollen out in huge quantities. I don't know for sure though, just don't sniff it, ha ha.
You are right, the Goldenrod is supposed to be pollinated by insects. Ragweed is pollinated by the wind, thus it makes us suffer. I am a bit suspect of the Goldenrod though!
I'm suffering too- but it is a beautiful shade of yellow, isn't it?!!
Sorry it aggravates your allergies, but it is pretty...looks like a star!
that has got to be the most artistic photo of a weed i have seen in a long time - wonderful! its like a firework of golden pollen going off down below and we dont even know it- until we start sneezing! :)
Isn't it a beautiful color of yellow? But...oh how it can bring misery to many who suffer from allergies.
Lovely lace....but in your face! My head drives me crazy in the fall and spring, but the trouble-makers are beautiful.
I'm having the same problem!
It it lovely, but if it's goldenrod, it's contributing to my allergies, too! That and ragweed. Oh, well. Frost will come eventually. :-)
it is really beautiful!
Love that poem! I just did a post yesterday using it and those same lines. Sorry the yellow bloom is causing your allergies.
Yeah, poor maligned goldenrod. It gets the blame for the misery and the ragweed just laughs. At least the goldenrods are gorgeous.
The Goldenrod does get all of the blame, but it really is the ragweed that makes us all suffer!
Darn allergens. Mine are starting up as well.
love the pic...
Lovely but deadly... or just obnoxious!
What a pretty angle!
Great photo! Sorry you are suffering, but that color and shape are lovely together.
As pretty as it looks, it most definitely looks like it can put a heavy load of pollen into the air.Velva
As pretty as it looks, no doubt it could put a heavy dose of pollen into the air.Velva
You have a great perspective in this photo, Michelle. There seem to be many allergy sufferers among your viewers. Sorry. Neither goldenrod nor ragweed affect me.
looks like a beautiful star that makes me sneeze too !
That really is a great shade of yellow.
I love September - but could do without the sneezing! Such a vibrant shade of yellow! xo
This is definitely my worst allergy season, but it is such a beautiful time of the year. xo Laura
Yep, this stuff is blooming everywhere in my area.
