Thoughtful Thursday

Though I think it is a lovely shade of yellow, I believe it might be one source of my Autumn allergy discomfort.

"By all these lovely tokens September days are here, with summer's best of weather and autumn's best of cheer."

  1. Supposedly the plants that have blooms that attract insects don't rely on putting out pollen like ragweed does. The ragweed bloom is green and can hardly be seen so it blows pollen out in huge quantities. I don't know for sure though, just don't sniff it, ha ha.

    1. You are right, the Goldenrod is supposed to be pollinated by insects. Ragweed is pollinated by the wind, thus it makes us suffer. I am a bit suspect of the Goldenrod though!

  5. Isn't it a beautiful color of yellow? But...oh how it can bring misery to many who suffer from allergies.

  6. Lovely lace....but in your face! My head drives me crazy in the fall and spring, but the trouble-makers are beautiful.

  7. It it lovely, but if it's goldenrod, it's contributing to my allergies, too! That and ragweed. Oh, well. Frost will come eventually. :-)

  8. Love that poem! I just did a post yesterday using it and those same lines. Sorry the yellow bloom is causing your allergies.

  9. Yeah, poor maligned goldenrod. It gets the blame for the misery and the ragweed just laughs. At least the goldenrods are gorgeous.

    1. The Goldenrod does get all of the blame, but it really is the ragweed that makes us all suffer!

  12. As pretty as it looks, it most definitely looks like it can put a heavy load of pollen into the air.

  13. As pretty as it looks, no doubt it could put a heavy dose of pollen into the air.

  14. You have a great perspective in this photo, Michelle. There seem to be many allergy sufferers among your viewers. Sorry. Neither goldenrod nor ragweed affect me.
