Random Five Friday

I did it.  I finally got a photo of the life-sized plastic snowman in the back of this gentleman's truck.  I have watched him drive around Smalltownland for a number of years and never snapped a picture.  Thanks go out to my daughter for taking this picture with my cell phone.

Although this house is not in the warm climate that I often fantasize of, I could still see myself living in it.

Our weather keeps making wild swings from toe numbing cold to approaching the seventy degree mark.

I discussed The Nutcracker with my class this week and showed them the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.  Their faces were awestruck as she danced around the stage.

These celebrities in classic works of art are worth a preview, as they will certainly give you a chuckle today.

Linking up with Nancy today, who is back from her hiatus!

  1. Hi Michelle, loving the paintings! I'm going to send the link to my daughter; she'll love it too. I've recently found the most beautiful house which needs saving in Vermont on something ridiculous like 25 acres of land. And guess what the price was? $199K! Can you believe it? Robert and I were saying that if we sell the Vancouver house and sell the Oxford house, we'd have enough money to buy six of those properties! Outrageous. I love to live vicariously thru real estate agents too. :) Hope your last few days coming up to Christmas are happy and stress free. :)

  5. my question would be - why do you have a snowman in your truck? have you asked ... i would so have too!! i have seen many bows & wreaths on folks vehicles. but a snowman in the back? odd??! oh, & don't forget the men that fly their American or Confederate flags in the back of their trucks ... the flags are so huge ... & really flap in the wind big time. 18. Thanks for showing us the elusive snowman, I agree with you about the house and your weather, in different ways, is not so different from ours. I am glad that your class like The Nutcracker, but I did not those silly celeb's faces crudely pasted in famous works of art. Shame on them!

  24. I have to admire a man who loves Christmas that much. Mostly it's the women that do all the decorating and making it happen. Love that house. When are you going to show us pix of your farmhouse interiors? I'd love to see more!

    ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  29. What a fun thing to see driving around!
Love the house that you linked to - glad to see bookcases full of books. And the bathroom even has 'a loo with a view' as we would say in the UK.
Hope you are enjoying this pre-Christmas Saturday.

  31. This Santa's been around a bit, I bet. Looks so 50s to me. I get a kick out of what people will do to their vehicles. Try to look seasonal, often come off as stupid(at least to me).
    Case in point.
