Spirit of the Season

My vintage, aluminum, tabletop pom-pom Christmas tree.

The first of December is upon us, ladies and gentleman.

Just how are you showing, and sharing your Christmas spirit?  I confess that the stress of the season often dilutes my spirit, but while on an errand this morning I spotted the gentleman with the most holiday spirit in this town.

He drives around with a life-sized Frosty the Snowman in the back of his pick-up truck.

Yes, he does.

It is my quest, this season, to capture this on film.  Seeing him never fails to bring a smile to my face.

"I wish we could put up some of the Christmas spirit in jars and open a jar of it every month."

  2. We are going to decorate the house after the 4 and 5 year old grandsons get up from their nap - they live with us now so I am looking forward to seeing the wonder in their eyes as we hang things on the tree. I have 2 luncheons planned here at the farm - one for my 2 sisters and sister-friend. One for my 3 local blog friends. I'm excited!!

  3. I would love to see that guy myself, so like Terra said above, please bring camera and try to find him. I'm having a stress free holiday season this year, starting early, no malls around here, just some shopping online.

  11. My husband and I are having trouble with Christmas spirit at our house this year. The time has slipped up on us; he has been incredibly busy and I've been ill and now, it is here and we're as unready as we've ever been. I hope that you catch your video of the fellow with the holiday cheer!

  17. Well I'll be looking forward to that video. I love holiday decorations but I must admit as I get older it seems like it's harder and harder to muster up the energy to put them all out.

  18. Your new header is lovely, Michelle! I'm also aware of the "stress thoughts" trying to crawl into my mind ... avoiding super markets with large crowds at the moment ... and just taking things slow after, is working well :) Not everything needs to be home baked - ginger bread from the store does go fine with the tea ;)

  19. We are prepared for Advent, for Christmas season in Germany - to the greatest possible extent...
...each Advent weekend we visit wonderful Christmas markets and exhibition in our region. But one of the most beautiful Christmas exhibitons we had already in an historic building of our hometown. If you wanna cast a glance...
    Enjoy a great Advent season,
    Uwe.

  26. December & Christmas need characters like that, too many serious and stressed out shoppers about.
