Survival

"Friendly cashiers and
sweet overhead music,
short check-out lines and
uncrowded aisles"

"These are a few of my favorite shopping things"

My apologies to Julie Andrews....

I did survive my shopping adventure.  Though I enjoy time with my daughter, shopping is not something I like to do anymore.

Not for Christmas gifts, groceries, or any sort of thing.

We did score this fine gingerbread house kit and my daughter spent some time putting her artistic stamp on it.
Now onward with gift wrapping, Christmas card mailing, caroling, family dinners, exchanging of gifts, etc......

I am tired already.

  1. LOVE the gingerbread house and the embellishments. I've been pacing myself and so far I am not stressed at all but enjoying the whole process. But I'm retired, that makes a big difference. Enjoy your holiday. Teresa :-)

  3. Shopping is a task that has to be done periodically. I am just more into saving money than spending it these days.

  15. Oh how I understand you. I only enjoy shopping in small independent shops nowadays. Your daughter did well, I was baking Christmas cookies yesterday all afternoon but nothing as pretty as this!

  21. Sometimes I like to shop. If I have someone fun to go with. But mostly it is a chore I could do without. Love the gingerbread house - your daughter did a great job! xo Karen
