Random Five Friday

My view as I came walking back to the house yesterday, after a long jaunt through the woods with a canine friend.  Lucky, I am.....

Originally written/recorded in the early sixties, I think Norah Jones did a fine job with this song.

Would you want to live in a haunted house?  If so, just check out this listing......

The Pioneer Woman's Beef Stew recipe is excellent and a new staple here at our house.

Our high school boy's basketball team is playing in the state tournament!  They played today and our superintendent dismissed school for the day so all interested people could attend.  Yes, they won and play again tomorrow night.  Go Dragons!

Linking up with Nancy today!  Pay her a visit!

  7. Lucky girl to walk where you do and have a canine friend to share the walk. Think you can't beat a Pioneer Woman recipe. Norah Jones is one of my favorites. I'm not sure about living in a haunted house -- the haunts would have to be friendly. Go Dragons!!!

  22. What a lovely Pastoral view you had on your walk. The pretty red barn and the blue sky with the sun actually shining made me smile.
I've never heard Norah Jones before but now I think I must have some of her music. Yes, I am a (Classic Rock) person so this type of music isn't usually on my radar but I'm open to different styles.
Nix on that Haunted house but what a hilarious ad.

  24. Ah... ghosts. I knew an English lady who felt very uncomfortable in an Elisabethan manor. Little did she know that it is said to be haunted. Of course, I never felt the least little bit uncomfortable in the manor... So I dunno, I might give it a try, lol!

For me, that barn complete with four-legged milk providers is a sight for sore eyes!

Thanks for your lovely comment today!

  27. Till I saw N. Jones, I thought for sure I was going to be listening to my all time favorite J. Mitchell song, "Turn Me On I'm a Radio". Wow! Love that song and the words 'hit' me every time I hear it.

  30. This is a wonderful scene, Michelle, with that rich red siding and all of the cows!

Your story about the basketball team brought back bad memories. When I was a senior in high school, my team won the league championship and went to the state tournament. Unlike your principal, our principal was a jerk and refused to let school out for a 1 o'clock game. The other team was from Boston and had the whole school there. We had only six friends who skipped school to be there. We lost in double overtime at the buzzer.

  36. Nicely balanced shot both in colour and composition.
Norah Jones has an amazing voice, one of the few Jazz singers in my collection, must rectify that at some point. Instrumental West coast Jazz is one of my things at the moment (early Rippingtons e.g. tracks .. Aspen / Love notes/ Soul mates)
