Seventeen

Yet another sunset photo.

So, this is what seventeen looks like.

My tiny baby boy, (who is taller than me now), turned seventeen yesterday.  Busy working for a neighboring farm business, he hasn't been home much the past couple of days.  I mentioned taking a photo of him last night, covered in dirt, but he totally balked at the idea.

Maybe I can get a shot of him this week posing with his new kayak.

I'll have to check his schedule.......

  13. Ah, yes - the years fly by, don't they? We still remember them as babies no matter how old they get. It's wonderful to see them grow into good, strong, honest men. There is such a feeling of pride. You might have to take on Paparazzi tactics to get a photo....but if you have to run along the riverbank - watch where you are going.....just sayin'. Happy Birthday to your son. xo Karen

  25. Isn't that the truth -- one needs to check the schedule of teens. They are all so busy with this and that. Nice that he has a job working for a farm. Hard work but what a great training for future jobs. -- barbara

  26. Our teens are hard to pin down with busy schedules these days too - the other day one was curled up in the living room fast asleep on the floor, and I said that he was sleeping just like a baby. My husband reminded me of reality when he said, "Yup, a great big bearded baby!"
Happy 17th to your boy! Hope he enjoys the kayak - one of the best things we've ever gotten ourselves, and I believe the best way to travel on water!

  31. I absolutely adore amazing sunsets! They take my breath away and I almost feel paralyzed... I'm scared to move an inch, for fear I'll miss the colors.
