Random Five Friday

Yes, that is a quarter on the left and yes, that is a chicken egg on the right.  Obviously one of the girls just wasn't feeling up to the task yesterday.

Happy Birthday to my Dad, a.k.a., "Papa Mike".   After his health scare this past fall, I am glad to have him around for another birthday.

I know these guys have been around for a bit, but I am just discovering their Bluegrass talent.  Ironhorse is awesome.

I admit to being in love with this Bayou Cottage.  Make sure you click on the link and check out the photo gallery.

We are in the midst of a Blackberry Winter around these parts.  Cue the wood stove!

Best wishes for a great weekend ahead!

  4. Wow! Tiny egg!!! I hatched out some Maran eggs this Spring. I mixed them in with my barnyard eggs so I'm not sure how many pullets I actually have. It seems like I got more cockerels with that hatch :/ Can't wait for those beautiful dark eggs though :)))
    Happy birthday to your dad!!!

  27. Oh, thanks for the link! Great version of Rocket Man. Have you heard of the group Old & In the Way....if not you can here them play Wild Horses here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8dfR7vZwC8 I like it as much, if not more than tthe Rolling Stone's version...and also, if you listen to it, look for their Hobo Song. Never mind copy and paste the following: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRFl9UUpkns

Jerry Garcia of the Greteful Dead was in the group.

As for the chicken egg...we had chickens when I was young and I always just loved finding one of those little bitty eggs...or one with a double yolk!
