Random Five Friday

Color me happy, it's a baby tomato ya'll!

Taking the back roads home from the grocery this week, I spied two small fawns on the side of the road.  Those spots just make them so sweet.

This lady has a voice!  Axl Rose I hope you are watching.  This. is. how. it's. done.

Lightning bugs have been making our trees look like they are lit up with Christmas lights.  A first for me as I am used to seeing them fly around the fields.

If you are looking for a phrase that describes just how hot it is in your neck of the woods, just look here.

Go forth and have a great weekend!

  15. Time for some fried green tomatoes ( one of my favorite all time movies, too!) That song is seared in my memory - my kids were teenagers when that was popular and they played it morning, noon and night, full blast. (I kind of like it, too) Tiny fawns are the sweetest things to see. Enjoy your weekend! xo Karen

  25. Wow, that woman has stage presence and a voice. On the world stage, it's not everyones cup of tea but congratulations to her and the band for giving it a go and converting it into that style. Always something good to look for in a cover song but always something great if you can dramatically change the style For me it works.
I went to a free concert recently in the foyer of a local prestigious concert hall and to be honest I wasn't expecting much, but it was a request show from a A5 leaflet of a vast collection of pop and jazz songs old and new that they converted into their own style with a guest vocalist. Here's a jazz funk sample with a different vocalist that feels like a journey around South and West America. The Keyboard player, James Harrison, was only young but one of the best I've seen in a long time.
