Happy 4th of July

Wishing all of you out there a Happy 4th of July directly from a small town parade.  Where the flag is so large it has to be hoisted from a crane.

Where firetrucks abound....

and so do old school cars.

Of course, we need to see a pink tractor.....

and then a standard green one.

And, if you collect small tractors, then all the better.

Finally, when you think you can stand in the crowd not a minute longer, your daughter finally comes through the line and actually gives you a wave.

Did I also mention small town 4th of July festivities also offer food, fun, family, and games?

Small towns....you need one!

Happy 4th of July!

  13. A wonderful series, Michelle. I adore small town parades. The main West Hartford parade is Memorial Day, and I don't think any nearby towns have parades on the 4th. Fireworks are our thing, but most got postponed this year because of the rain. The town in Massachusetts has its main parade on the 4th and one of these days I want to go back to see it (after more decades away than you have been alive!).

  15. Happy 4th of July to you! Looks like you had great weather and a fun time! I hope you were able to grab a yummy hot dog!

We have been deluged with rain in Maine! Our little cottage Is cleaned & waiting for company to arrive tomorrow! So, we are celebrating the 5th of July!

I agree, small towns rock! Our home in MA is in a small town. We've only had full-time police for about 10 years, we have a volunteer fire dept & we love it!

  21. One of my colleagues currently is in the States to begin an extra occupational study - he's at the "U of L" at Kentucky. So he should have had the chance to participate in a "4th of July parade" for the first time in his life as well.
    Great photographs, great impressions, Michelle.
By the way: his sister's name is Michelle, too, and currently she works at my office as a trainnee... ;-)
Everybody needs his or her own Michelle... ;-))

  25. Our local July 4th parade was postponed due to the threat of Hurricane Arthur and while it was held on the 5th we were out of town this year. There aren't any tractors of floats in ours as its a non-motorized parade but with walkers, bikers, wagons and some mini kid-sized tractors.
