Friday Randoms

The tomato grove is thick with green tomatoes.  Meaning they are all going to ripen about the same time and overwhelm me.  Bring it on, I say!

I started my 19th year of teaching this week.  One of the smoothest starts to a school year I have ever experienced.

I've been listening to some Lionel Ritchie this week.

I mentioned yesterday that my hens go on strike during really hot weather.  Can't say if all hens do this, but mine are not about to exert themselves when things get steamy.

Just because I know you need a good laugh and I know he is good for it.

Linking up with Tanya today!

  2. are you looking forward to your retirement? i know for my parents who are both retired teachers - don't miss it one bit. i think you have to stop when it is no longer fun. the kids will see & that is a real shame. kids need remodels who are great & enjoy their jobs - always & forever. have a great weekend! going to listen to your tune. 7. My wife has been back in school all week and classes start Monday. She is a TA but is being considered for her first special ed teaching position at the high school as she is getting her degree online in addition to her music teaching degree. I don't understand it all but I think the teachers are ready for another year.

  11. those were hilarious!! i did the clipper one to christian the night before pictures. i forgot to put the guard on and started right in the front and shaved a big hole on the side of his head. ashlyn and i looked at each other and started cracking up...poor christian was in about 1st grade and looked at us terrified "what, what, what happened" and ran to the mirror and saw. luckily he's a pretty easy going guy so he got over it instantly haha...my tomatoes are starting to turn red. i've gotten a few out so far, need to get down there today and pick some more! have a great weekend and thanks for linking!

  19. Congrats on starting your 19th year!! My sister is working on 36, I think. Yikes! God bless all teachers, though! You are underpaid and don't get nearly enough attention for the good work you do. I sure don't blame those hens for not wanting to work hard when it is hot and steamy! I'm with them! LOL

  27. I'm glad your back to work/school went smoothly. And I know you can handle all those tomatoes, but now that you mentioned it, mine are doing the same thing. And I don't have your know-how.

  28. Hi Michelle, congrats on a long teaching career, you are very brave, the kids would have done me in a long time ago!! I planted only 6 tomato plants and will plant a couple more when they are almost done producing...that way they won't catch me out! Only the hubby and myself in the house now so I plant less. Keep well and I hope you had a lovely weekend so far! xoxo
