Thankful Thursday

Back in the saddle this Thursday morning with a different, "fence view", than usual.  Thankful to see the man-child, (#62!), enjoying his senior year of football.  So hard to believe that he is as old as he is.  Parenting - the days are long, but the years are short.

Also thankful today for a fantastic visit to the gulf coast and the chance to spend time with my parents.  I spent some quality time with my daughter as she was my traveling buddy for the week.  The men of the house had a full schedule and thus we had a , "chick trip".

Linking up today with Teresa....

  1. A profound statement "Parenting - the days are long but the years are short". You are a wise woman.

  2. High school football! I was trying to get my home town high school to stream their games but never got too far with it.
    Good fence post!

  3. O, this fence photo sure brings back memories...one of our grandboys played football all thru high school and I so remember the last football game for him. He stood on the sidelines, after most everyone was gone and big tears rolled down his cheeks and, I, of COURSE, bawled like a baby....not so much that it was his last high school football game...but more the fact that he was about to venture out into the REAL world. bwaaa
He went on to college, got his degree and has a fine job, working in a bank. He and his wife are about to have their first child in December.
whew...sorry this is so long...just all those memories hit me when I saw your great photo.
    xoxo

My son played football last year, but he won't be able to play anymore since his high school is an arts school and they get out of class 2 hrs later than practice begins :(

  16. Your chick trip must have been wonderful. I've always said some of the best conversations have been in our car going somewhere or other. The longer the trip the better. Great photo of your son.
