Mr. Donkey

On an overcast day in December, so began my quest for a photo of the neighbor's donkey.

From the snorting sounds he was making, I didn't feel a friendship vibe in the air.

He even tried to hide behind the skinny fence post.

This was the best I could do, as he continued to eye me with suspicion.  Secret Agent Farmer Man advised me that I should have shown up with treats.

His equine friend, however, had no problems posing for the camera.

  1. I like your reportage, we have horses at hand, but we do not see donkeys too often...

  8. love it. donkeys are protective, maybe he thought you were gonna hurt his buddy.

Around here they put them with sheep to keep the coyotes away.

  26. There is some meaning to the way the donkey's ears move, but I am afraid that I failed my donkey ear reading class.

  27. I love donkeys too! They seem at least from a distance to be very sweet. Several of the farms near here use them as stable mates for their horses...how fun would that be!
