Friday Randoms

Some sweet Dianthus that will soon grace us with her flowers.

This photo of a lion is quite spectacular.  However, I am not the kind of photographer that would get that close!

An interesting look at playgrounds around the world.  Norway is the only one that looks like it might hold some enjoyment for children.

How about a little Bill Withers to start the weekend?

Linking up with Tanya today!

  5. Good post today. None of the playgrounds look like the ones I had as a child, or even my own children had. Worlds apart. Love the song and hope it is a 'lovely day' for you.

  8. This playgrounds are certainly stark for the most part. I love the one in Norway, but I wonder how long before a lawsuit was filed in this country because someone got hurt playing in a tree or falling off a rock...like kids do when playing.
    Have a lovely weekend.

  16. Hi Michelle, In today's Friday 5 the Playgrounds Around the World gets the first place award. Wow, after looking at that first photo ... a typical American school, it is amazing to see the radical differences in the other playgrounds. Interesting post. Have a great weekend.

  18. Lovely capture of the dianthus buds! The playgrounds around the world is bit of an eye opener - most of ours in Australia are large green grassy ones with some play equipment and many trees for shade and some concrete for ball play and heavy traffic areas.

Oh my gosh that Photograph of the Lion is amazing! - I don't think I'd have the nerve to try it at all.
The playgrounds were certainly diverse and interesting.

  24. Love your soft dianthus photo! The lion photo gives me shivers. Interesting playground photos - there's at least one child fallen down in most of them! I remember falling and skinning my knees at recess!

  27. The only way I would get that close to a lion is if it was behind a large glass window in a good solid wall.

  28. I have been that close to lions and probably will again next month. The difference is that I will be on a vehicle, which the lion doesn't identify as dangerous, and that idiot photographer was on the ground, where the lion identified him as a snack.
