Iris

Despite a thunderstorm and a rainy day, the first Iris of the spring season made her appearance yesterday.

Showing herself in the late afternoon sunlight.

"I will be the gladdest thing
 under the sun,
I will touch a hundred flowers,
and not pick one."

Edna St. Vincent Millay
