Growing and Growing

Things are really taking off here at the farmette.  Though our busy schedules have us gardening a bit later than usual, everything is growing right along.

Petunias on the back porch.

Pumpkins, my favorite thing.

We have prolific pear trees.

The Heirloom Flame tomatoes are coming right along.

Little onions right in a row.

  3. A few years ago I planted pumpkins...I watered them lovingly for days. They grew and grew. Finally flowers. And then they were gone! I have no idea what happened to them...possibly deer? I would love to have more than patio tomatoes, but unless we put up a huge fence, we have pretty much planted a salad bar for the deer. I love your pears!

  4. Wow, your garden is doing great. I just planted some petunias yesterday. I will put in a tomato plant and a squash plant today. It's warm enough and early....yay!

  5. Spring is such a wonderful season of hope and anticipation. To imagine how big those pumpkins will be in a few months, or anticipating the taste of juicy home grown tomatoes....such happyness!

  8. I bought some seeds the other day and will try to plant them in a day or two. Just need my husband to help me to relocate my planter boxes somewhere else in the yard. Beautiful images!

  9. I look forward to spring and things I had forgotten about popping up to greet me. I also get a few so-called weeds.

  10. I so envy your garden. I have been besieged by insects and blight and have about given up.

  11. I have tomatoes and peppers in pots on the porch. I'm glad I didn't plant- it has been horribly wet. Have a nice holiday weekend!
