Thankful Thursday

Thankful today for bucolic scenes such as this.  I think it almost looks a bit too perfect to be true, so let me dispel that idea.  I took this shot shot hanging out the driver's side of a pick-up truck while making my way home, on a small country road.  While it was later in the afternoon, the heat had rousted up some clouds, that did nothing to relieve anyone's discomfort.

It is scenes like this that keep me going through a busy life.

"Still round the corner may wait, a new road or a secret gate."

J. R.R. Tolkien

  12. Michelle, you sound like me. Sometimes drive-bys (which I call them) are the best photos, aren't they? This one is spectacular and suitable for framing :)

Love the scene. It is very "pastoral" and does look perfect. I love that you shot it hanging out the window. It's just lovely.

  35. Really like how you incorporated the barbed wire into the shot...lots of interpretations in that...segmented lives/prickly life in a bucolic environment/wired life♪ http://lauriekazmierczak.com/quiet-blossoms/
