A Tiny House Christmas

With the passing of my mother-in-law this year, the K family will convene here at the farmette.  This meant taking all of the holiday decor out of the closet under the staircase.  And, I do mean all of the decor.

This delighted my daughter to no end.  She was my partner, until she deserted me midway through this activity to go to the gym with her dad.......

So, I decided to surprise her with some small decor. I have a small collection of 1950's metal dollhouses and some barns.  I decided that even they needed a little something.

Santa seems to approve......

My old farmhouse is decorated with its fair share of wreaths, so I  this 1950's Colonial needed a few as well.

Every house needs a snowman.  Maybe it needs some artificial snow on the lawn.....

Skaters are on the pond.........

Dear readers......I hope you took out all of your Christmas decor, too.

  2. Love your tiny house decor for the holidays.
Also love how you refer to your household as the "farmette."
    Seems to fit perfectly.

  3. What a sweet idea. I was going to get by without a tree this year...yikes I know, that is not good at all. I bought one of those big ceramic churches that are painted many bright colors and thought I would paint it all white....that was at least one Christmas ago. I will make that my project for the holidays. I was working on decorating the interior of my new trailer....so that counts for something, right? Ha. Guess I had better get that tree up with a new grand baby coming for Christmas!

  30. The houses are so adorable. I used to have a metal doll house and this brought back that memory, thank you! I haven't drug everything Christmas out yet, but did get the tree up, with Katie's approval. I'm hoping that I can finish up this week.

  31. Oh, my! I can't believe you have a collection of 1950s doll houses. I remember I had a metal doll house when I was little (it would have probably been a 1950s one), but, I think it was open in the front. I think you decorated them beautifully. I am slowly taking out my decorations.
