Brown

Brown is the word of the day.
The adjective for the end of the fall season.
The dark color that will draw us into winter.

The barren color that makes you appreciate the beauty underneath the leaves.

The color that denotes rest for the weary ground.

The word that describes beauty in forms both large and small.

"And fall, with her yeller harvest moon and the hills growin' brown and golden under a sinkin' sun."

Roy Bean

  1. It's nice to see brown getting some much deserved love. In due course we'll exchange it for spring's green. But in the meantime, welcome back brown. We've been expecting you.

  2. Did you already have the first harbingers of winter? Recent Saturday we got the first snow - now fall is definitely over and out.
Let's make the best out of the situation and wait for the next warm sun beams in spring 2016!

  6. It's getting pretty brown around here too. I like the brown better under overcast skies...I know it sounds weird but there is just a quietness in my spirit when the vegetation is "hibernating" for the winter. Wonderful photos, Michelle.
