Risky

I ran across this sign out for a walk at a nature preserve, while visiting my parent's over the holidays.

Made me think about how everything is at our own risk.  We attempt control with our daily decisions, but life throws so many curve balls our way.

Leaving you with some Lucinda Williams.  Maybe we could all use some protection.

  1. It's so true, Michelle, that life is risky! But I would hate to live in constant fear. ;)

  2. You are so right Michelle, it is a fact that we have no control of the randomness of life as my family found out so tragically last July. Does make you realise the importance of making the most of each day. Wishing you all the very best for 2016, let's hope it's a good one..

"Everything is at our own risk" . . .
I will ponder on that as I take off for my morning walk . . .

  11. Right you are girl. Everything out there includes some sort of risk,
and if we're lucky, a surprise or two.
Thanks for the Lucinda Williams -- saw her live a year or two ago. Love her music.
(That guitar sounds like Mark Knopfler, don't you think?)
Hope you had a nice holiday break.

  20. That old control issue. It is one that is hard to keep under control.

  21. I am learning that I don't need to control everything, but it's a hard lesson to learn. You are right that much of life is a risk so I'm glad to know that God has it all together for me!

  24. I find that less and less is at one's own risk... Perhaps because I'm a lawyer!

  25. Lots of risks to take in life, though we can learn from them.

  26. Interesting perspective, Michelle. I might look at that sign daily and not put the same spin on it that you did.

  27. When and if we think about it, which I seem to do more often, just living today is a risk because of all the sad news ob senseless killings both abroad and here in the U.S. Perhaps the sign should have read: living can be risky.
