Friday Randoms

Putting some Summer garden flowers on the screen because, at this point in the season, I could use a little color.

One good thing about our recent snow days was the chance to catch up on some cooking shows, a favorite thing of mine.  I watched Nick Stellino on our local PBS channel.  I might be whipping up one of his soup recipes soon.

Seriously, I am in love with these giant pine cones.  A few would look great sprinkled around the farmette.

I thought I would like this J. Crew CEO's apartment, but I kinda, sorta don't.

In honor of the passing of Maurice White, we need a little Earth, Wind, and Fire, for the weekend.

Linking up with Tanya today

  1. I'm 100% with you on this whole "ready for Spring" thing. I am
going through seed catalogs -- that helps. No thanks on the
J Crew CEO's taste in decorating!! I am debating whether I should
show up for tomorrow's Mardi Gras parade downtown -- part of me
says "hell yes", and part of me says "stay home." Stay tuned...

  4. There doesn't seem to be a peaceful, quiet, relaxing spot in that apartment. I'll pass. The pinecones, however are delightful. What fun! Thanks for the intro to some new recipes...some yummy sounding combinations in soups. Enjoy your weekend.

  5. I love cooking shows too! One of my new favorites is "Moveable Feast". Some of the episodes are like art....the places they visit and foods they create are stunning. I sit there watching and wishing I could be there enjoying the amazing feasts they create. Have a wonderful weekend!

  9. hello Michelle....that is a beautiful, cheerful and colourful photo! Just the thing for chasing the winter blues away. But now I am wishing I didn't look at those giant pinecones because now I just feel like I have to have one!!!! aren't they marvelous! I am 'pinning it' instead so I can look whenever and just dream. Thanks for linking up with Fun Friday Favourites and also for the link back.

  14. Hi Michelle, A neat Friday 5, as always! I especially liked the Giant Pine Cones. And the J Crew CEO’s apartment … very interesting, but, I think, like you said, not exactly my cup of tea. Thank you for your comment on my blog about following YNP on Twitter. Wishing you a fine weekend!

  18. I didn't like a single room nor a single item in that apartment. Nothing. And, maybe still on my negativity roll, I don't get why one makes humongous pine cones. I would be positive about the Earth Wind and Fire music except that I can't avoid it after Maurice White's death.

  19. Its really nice to see color this time of year. I have a few, what I thought were giant pinecones that I bring out every year. I love these really giant pine cones and would easily find a home for them in my yard.

  21. Must admit to a weakness for cooking shows also Michelle, that and renovation shows :) Love the flowers.. hate the apartment decor but WOW what fabulous windows don't you think, if I had that apartment there would be no garish wallpaper to detract from those beauties!
