Shots From the Week

An early morning sunrise on the farmette.
The view from our back porch.

Fluffy snow resting on an unpicked apple.

An ancient, wooden Coke crate.....now a good shelf for snow.

Snow resting on a sickle bar mower.
You gotta love farm implements.

"The simple life on the farm was everything to me.  Nothing was more relaxing after a long plane flight than to reach the winding driveway that led up to my house.  The quiet of the night was more soothing than a sleeping pill."

Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

  4. You're lucky to have such a pretty snow. We haven't had but a dusting for 2 winters straight. There go my photo ops!

  5. I know what a Coke box it, but a sickle remover...I have no idea what it is other than it belongs on a farm. I keep giggling about the “farmette.” You wait...I am going to start calling ours that instead of there “Homeplace.” You name is much more interesting. That first picture is beautiful and all the snowy one that follow are lovely, too. The coke holder has to be my favorite.

  6. Your photos are lovely as was the quote by Kubler Ross, Michelle. There is a special stillness that snow and winter brings to a place. A time to rest by the fire and dream of spring.

  13. I like 'em all....but if a photo can be poetic, the unpicked apple image is the epitome. Cool.

  18. Storing snow in an old wood crate is such a good idea. It's neatly organised on the shelves and it'll be handy next Christmas for your decor ;)

  19. Sunshine & snow ... Yes, please!
The snow resting on the shelves is just so timeless and poetic for me ... I'm going back in time to my grand mom's yard, and the wonderful items she had.
