King of the Mountain

Our neighbor, at the end of the road, has a selection of calves.
They are quite handsome.

Not only are they handsome, but quite fun to watch.  They have been chasing each other, trying out some hay, and keeping us generally entertained.

Playing on this mound of dirt seems to be a favorite game.

It was all good until this Mama Cow came over to let me know she did not appreciate my presence.  She gave me a few strange grunts and I was on my way.

  9. Hello Michelle!:) Aww! Such sweet captures of the calves. We had twins born last week, and they will be playing like these in a few weeks.

  10. There is nothing sweeter than calves in the Spring. We used to have a huge "nursery" of Black Angus across the road from us, but now it's all in flowers for farmer's markets. Smells better.. LOL! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  12. Yes, most young animals and a lot of grown-up animals enjoy some play time. I loved watching baby calves run and buck around the pasture when spring weather warmed things up. Those babies and the mom as well look so happy and healthy.
