Thankful Thursday

Thankful this Thursday for a good start to the new school year.  I work with some wonderful people, so even though we are in the midst of our teacher workshop sessions, it still remains fun.

Sharing a gate that continues to reside in a very old cemetery.  It is the gate for a family plot on a parcel of land that used to be a prized farm that has remained in the same family for several generations.  Today the farm is still intact, though with different ownership.

  5. I love these old gates. I've seen many of them while canvassing cemeteries. I'm glad you are having a great back to school inservice. My daughter goes back next week, and she is not ready for summer to be over with. I always looked forward to going back...a fresh new year, new faces, new decorations, new books, new lessons. Always fun. I miss that part of teaching.

  7. A fine pic! It must be so hot to be back at work. I assume that schools there must be air-conditioned!

  16. That gate would make great wall art. In fact, one of the blogs I read the woman has one just like it on her wall and uses it for seasonal decorations. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  22. Great shot of the gate. I wonder what happened to it to bend it like that. I do like old cemeteries. There are a few old family cemeteries near farms around here.
