Thankful Thursday
Thankful this Thursday for life in the slow lane. About two minutes from my own farmette, I had to stop and let several chickens cross the road. This little thing was the last to make it, and she was in no hurry. Her owner has many chickens in various states of growth. They all cluck around the yard, eat grubs in the garden, and co-exist with two terriers. Quite a feat, I think.
What are you thankful for this Thursday?
Give it a shout out!!
haha that is so cute! the other day i had to stop and let a mama deer and her baby twins cross the road...i was so mad i didn't have my camera!
ReplyDeleteTanya, when you live the rural life you never know what will cross the road!
DeleteAnd so . . .
ReplyDeleteWhy did the chicken cross the road???
😏
(Couldn't resist.)
Now, that's pure country, my friend! Do you happen to know why the chickens crossed the road??? :D
ReplyDeleteDebby, I think its family was on the other side. She was getting left behind!
DeleteHello, I am glad all the chickens crossed the road safely. It is a cutie. Life in the slow lane is great. Thanks for hosting. Happy Thursday, enjoy your day and the weekend ahead.
ReplyDeleteThat is quite a feat especially with terriers. Wonder what they think about the chickens/
ReplyDelete...it reminds me of "why did the chicken cross the road."
ReplyDeleteI'm grateful that my knee is healing and I am once again feeling like roaming around. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun photo! Seems like we should all be sharing our 'why the chicken crossed the road' jokes! Let me think....heeheehee! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteThat is a hilarious photo and story. She's lucky you weren't driving fast when you saw them! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteTeresa, there were chickens all over the place and this one was getting left behind!

ReplyDeleteThank you, Pat!

ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteWe had chickens when I was a kid - I have always liked them!
ReplyDeleteLea, we had some not too long ago. They died of old age. I do think I need some more!
DeleteI too right away thought of Why did the chicken cross the road!! : )
ReplyDeleteGreat capture.
I'm thankful that we have a builder who we trust building our new house.
I'm thankful for my walks that I take every day. It's funny that the first thing that comes to mind when we see this chicken crossing the road is why is this happening. The poor chicken just wants to go home just like us all at the end of our day.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day Michelle.
There is that never ending question that Rick asked; why DID the chicken cross the road??
ReplyDeleteI have lots of things to be thankful, for including the friends I have met over the years while blogging.
she's a cute little chick
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful for the rain that has cut the humidity!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it nice to be able to slow down and let her pass on across! I love life when it is a bit slowed down...
ReplyDeleteI love that photo. She looks like a hen with a yen for travel! I'm thankful for the turtle that didn't get smoothed on the road this morning but make it across safely.
ReplyDeleteI am always amazed at the way Canada Geese cross the road in a leisurely fashion, stopping the traffic, and herding their youngsters along. I have only ever seen one road kill so it obviously works for them.
ReplyDeleteThankful first that you stopped and let the chick/chicks pass.
ReplyDeleteAnd selfishly, for right now, . . . my really thick book!
So, why did the chicken cross the road?
