Man's Best Friend

Saturday was spent at the annual Kentucky Cluster Dog Show.  An annual event that draws dogs/owners/handlers from a multi-state area.  It has the regular, "best of breed", events, plus agility and dock diving.  We have attended this event for many years.

You can wander around in the handler's area and check out the dogs, talk to owners and groomers.  I don't have a high priced breed myself, but I enjoy seeing all of the dogs.

Dock diving is a great event to watch.

Some dogs are really into it and we watched a couple of dogs who made it to the end of the platform, stopped, and refused to go any further.

It was evident, all over the facility, that these dogs are loved.

A lot of them are adept at sleeping during any kind of noise.

Almost everyone got along and made new friends along the way.

I will leave you with this sweet, little Papillon.

  2. We've had a number of dogs throughout our life together! And we loved each of them, but our Golden, Haley, remains #1 in our hearts and minds. There's just nothing like a Golden Retriever!

  7. Ohhh.. I'd love to go to a dog show and see all the breeds. I'm currently in love with the Bernese Moutain Dog. Our little Cairn is 14 years old and I'm literally frightened of when we'll lose him. And Dayle says.. no more dogs. But.. but.. but..

  12. I love dogs but haven't been able to have an indoor animal in years due to allergies, and after our last dog died in 2001 I didn't get another. She was 17 years old. We kept her outside except on very cold days, when she came into the garage. She had a nice doghouse and we regularly changed out her sleeping blankets and stuffing. It took me years to stop watching for her to run up to greet me when I drove up the driveway.

  15. I always enjoy going to a dog show, but feel sorry for the dogs who can't have one hair out of place and are held in a sitting position by their collar. It must be exhausting. But anyway, I'm a huge fan of dogs and love seeing all the different breeds. Nice post!
